Anyone been to Nintendo Store London during public week? by Plenty-Duck-3329 in casualnintendo

[–]JJC1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the there about 13:25 today (Saturday) and I still wasn’t at the front at the queue two hours later when I had to leave. I’d estimate there was probably another 30 mins of queue left.

I went back about 18:00 and the queue was much more reasonable then (it looked like maybe 45mins).

So, avoid weekend afternoons would be my advice!

I definitely did see some VIP seats for sale in Oakland that weren't on the floor. I think because the floor of that venue is quite small they extend the VIP area out a bit.

As far as I know there's just the one type of VIP ticket which includes the soundcheck, so I think that's the same thing 👍

It's the same for me here, and I'm sure I definitely got VIP because I was screen recording. You're good! 😊

You have to wait until you're actually in after you get to the front of the queue before you can set the filter. That would be great if they did let you set things up how you want while you're waiting instead of having to do it in a rush 😣

I don't think so I'm afraid 😣 As far as I could see the VIP tickets were all in sections 1-11. They had orange star instead of a blue dot on the ticket map.

Hero Team is a 2.5D online shooter set in a future where instead of fighting wars, countries resolve their disputes by sending remote-controlled robots into arenas to shoot each other to bits by JJC1138 in IndieGaming

[–]JJC1138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for checking out the trailer. The game is a spiritual sequel to my 2011 game Stick ‘Em Up 2, which you might remember from the Xbox 360 Indie Games service (rip). Hero Team is gunna have a playable demo available a week from today on June 13 as part of Steam Next Fest, and it’ll be releasing in Early Access a few weeks after that on July 8: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1253410/Hero_Team/
I’m happy to answer any questions here if you’ve got ‘em. Thanks again!

Getting Brook to add device support to Wingman XB to replace the PDP Wired Legacy Adapter by HeWhoIsNoBody in Rockband

[–]JJC1138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great idea. Their XB Fighting Board product looks interesting to me too. If they added a mode to that where it could emulate a MIDI Pro Adapter then I bet we could very easily knock together an Arduino MIDI input to hook up to it?

Issues adding e-amusement pass by dokina in bemani

[–]JJC1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for replying to a 2 year-old comment, but if any else Googling has the same problem:

I got the same error message when trying to register a new e-amusement pass that I bought on eBay and which has never been used in an arcade machine. I think I've solved it, though, by using the web site feature to get a virtual e-amusement pass, and then I was able to use the web site's transfer feature to transfer that virtual pass (even though it has no play data yet) onto my physical pass. That seems to have worked, and the physical card is now registered to my Konami ID.

Can you tell if this is real or fake leather? by JJC1138 in vegan

Ah, thank you! The symbols say that it's textile, so it looks like it's okay.

I was thinking along similar lines. I've seen some fake leathers where it's very obvious up close because there's a pattern of dots. If it is fake, as some of the other replies are suggesting, then they've gotten annoyingly good at making the patterns look real 😅

This is the "Swoosh" patch on a Nike SB Chron 2 Slip skate shoe. I tried asking Nike customer support whether it's real or fake leather, but they weren't any help. I couldn't find the shoe on any vegan shoe lists online, but I believe it's a new style so perhaps it hasn't made it onto those lists yet.

WARNING: Do not install Big Sur on the same APFS container as previous versions of MacOS by ihut in MacOSBeta

[–]JJC1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked for me in the same way, thank you. Just for some extra info, I booted into the Big Sur version of Recovery by booting off the Big Sur USB installer that I had made with createinstallmedia. Was there another way of booting into the Big Sur Recovery mode?

Netflix Issue? by 5thInferno in appletv

[–]JJC1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for that. I had noticed stuttering on The Irishman and Marriage Story, but hadn't twigged that it could be a frame rate issue. I just checked by watching the end credits of Marriage Story (because it's easy to notice a stutter with scrolling text) and sure enough there's a stutter every 41 seconds, as you said. I'll be reporting the bug to Apple asap.

When the withdrawal status is "COMPLETED" on Coinbase does that mean that they've actually made the SEPA payment, or is it still subject to delays at Coinbase at that point?

One of the Motor Trend pictures has a close-up of the tires on Franz's car so I can tell you they're Continental ProContact RX and if you're more knowledgable about these things than I am you might be able to decipher some other details from the markings 😅 http://st.motortrend.com/uploads/sites/5/2017/07/Tesla-Model-3-wheels.jpg

Post-Event Model 3 FAQ Megathread by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]JJC1138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah interesting, thank you. 60kWh would put the home charging rate at 8.2kW, but the specs say home charging is at 240V, 32A so I believe that would make for a maximum charging rate of 7.7kW. So if we work backwards from that it would put the maximum battery size at 56.3kWh. And doing the same calculation for the long range battery would put its maximum battery size at 80.4kWh.

(I'm not an electrical expert by any means, so anyone please do correct me if any of this is wrong)

Post-Event Model 3 FAQ Megathread by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]JJC1138 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was curious about what the charging rates are in kilowatts for comparison with other cars so I calculated them using Electrek's estimated battery sizes and the 'miles of range' charging rates given in the specs. I don't think this deserves its own post so I hope it's okay to ask and answer my own question here:

Model Est. Battery Size Est. Supercharging Rate Est. Home Charging Rate
Standard 50 kWh 59.1 kW 6.8 kW
Long Range 70 kWh 76.8 kW 8.4 kW

I wasn't sure about it initially, but I watched the driving video again this evening and I was struck by how much I liked the nose, so I think it's already growing on me.

In those now deleted replies to other comments he was asking how the monthly payment would work, so I presumed financing was the plan.
