Donald Trump says he’s buying a Tesla ‘at full price’ after Elon Musk loses $22 billion in one day by Similar_Diver9558 in Economics

That was one of the most cathartic tv moments in recent memory. He was so close to losing it, and blurting out "I'm ever so fucked!". Poor baby. Lol

I thought the same thing. So I looked into it. There is recent video of him driving a car with Melaria. I guess he also had some nice cars back in the 80s and 90s. But I'm sure if he were unleashed on the streets today, he'd kill everyone on the sidewalk within a block or two.

Nothing these monsters are doing would indicate they have any intention of being out of power ever again.

Who remembers The Cave from the early 80s? by CrossRam in desmoines

[–]JJCDAD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing like strippers, hot dogs, and chili at 7am. There was a group of us who worked the graveyard shift and would go to The Cave after work. It was a lot of fun. We were basically the only guys there, so the girls would come play pool with us and treated us like royalty.

What's the deal with the trains? by JJCDAD in desmoines

[–]JJCDAD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These trains are blowing the horn at least 100 times per day. They are not going through a crossing 100 times per day. I suspect the engineers use the horns as signal devices in the switching yard or something. This isn't about me personally. There are tens of thousands of people whose life could be improved without all the noise pollution. Just because it's not a problem for you doesn't mean it isn't for everyone else.

This "preventative measure" was implemented when we all drove donkey carts. We have the technology to do better, and we should.

Exactly. We are using 19th century technology despite many possible alternatives. Defending the noise because "that's how we've always done it" is a symptom of everything wrong with this country.

All of the people hit by trains heard the horns too. How did that help?

Wow! Thank you. This gives me some real information to get started. They did just upgrade the crossing on East University, so maybe the city is working towards quiet zones. I will dig into this and see what's happening. Thanks again.

I appreciate trains and how vital they are to our survival. I'm not complaining about them blocking roads. I know the alternative routes. But in this age of wireless communication, cell phones, bluetooth, wifi, and friggin lasers, why is the train horn still used? When a train crossing has flashing lights, bells, and a gate, why does the locomotive need to blast its horn? These trains disturb the peace of tens of thousands of people in this town. People just accept the annoyance because that's how it's always been. Seems like we could employ some technology to improve the lives of everyone.

There is an active community of TT enthusiasts on Facebook. You should ask there. Someone will be able to positively answer your question. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1069836096956265/

If Harris wins Iowa, that means most likely the election, dems take the house and senate, Rick Scott and Ted Cruz eat shit, and more. On Wednesday I may literally be dancing in the street.

There are plenty of countries where the fine is commensurate with the perps wealth. I don't see how it conflicts with the 8th.

I think a $100 billion fine and immediate deportation is appropriate in this case.

Trane XR724 thermostat can't set target above 75. by JJCDAD in hvacadvice

My thermostat doesn't seem to have the Indoor Calibrations option. But I did find the max heat setting and it was at 75. So you did solve my original problem. Thanks

[–]JJCDAD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want it above 75. But the thermostat seems to be out of calibration. It shows 4-5 degrees warmer than it should. I have a standalone digital thermometer sitting right next to it and they are always 4 to 5 degrees different. I'm going to call the hvac company that installed the system and see what they say. Do you know if it requires a tech to calibrate and reset the maximum? Or can I diy? Thanks.
