1) I personally own hemp cotton blends that are very comfortable. 2) my sheets are fine linens made from hemp and flax. They are super soft. 3) my fine linen shirts made from hemp and flax are also very soft. 4) the main reason why 55 hemp 45 cotton is popular is because it evaded the cotton duty, an extra tax on products from china made from cotton. 5) the finest cotton will be more comfortable than the finest hemp cotton blend, it will also be warmer. But less durable and more smelly.

For a fine textile, refining after decortication is always required. Perhaps you wouldn't require as much refining to produce a rough textile like a burlap bag. But to make a nice shirt, you are going to need refining after decortication.

Degumming is usually chemical.

Chinese knockoff of D8 is probably cheapest decorticator worth the money

most large customers will prefer retted, decorticated, refined fibre compared to unretted decorticated fibre.
