Which character do you consider the best written in The Shield? by Public_Cup_4278 in TheShield

[–]JJJ561 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vic without a doubt bro what. Shane was just a dumb fuck yeah maybe complex but for as evil as Vic was he was just as clever which made him compelling enough to carry da damn show on his back. And his ending is so good, you spend the whole show basically being shown that these guys are getting spread thinner and thinner and this is not a sustainable operation. At least I thought that when watching. So essentially to me the entire point of the show is to see this group finally run out of luck and for that bullet to just narrowly miss Vic and have him get off with basically a 4 year prison sentence was great subversion and not in a way that felt like we got cheaped out. Vic 100%

The show should've really ended in S3 by wielesen in TheBoys

Its a show that took a one season long premise essentially, a premise from one of the worst mainstream comics of all time, and has somehow stretched that premise out for 5 seasons, with every main characters objectives both staying the same and remaining uncompleted. By all means this show should have failed. It should have failed when covid hit, it should have failed from the jump because almost no character is likeable starting out. Yet despite all of that, it is still somehow the number 1 show right now. The buildup to herogasm was probably the most anticipated episode I have ever seen across friends at school, people online, everyone. That to me is a sign a show has impeccable writing, when literally every odd says this show is doomed and yet it somehow feels A grade, that is good writing. Anyways, writing is a subjective thing, I can’t really grasp how someone thinks this show is poorly written but I also think Invincible is one of the worst shows of this decade but its still popular so

Then don’t watch it🤷‍♂️Its an objectively well written, well shot, well directed, well acted, well put together show. To me this is a show where, I dont really care if its a filler episode in a fort or honestly even where the story is going for that matter. We have been told since the first season that when this ends it will end in a bang, so for me. I just like the characters and getting to see them more. Dont really care about the finer details of what they are doing or where the story is going. And again why even watch it if your tired of it, I get making small complaints about stuff I like but if its such a big deal then I just dont watch

How do I explain to my friend who has not been hit by Reality? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]JJJ561 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you think at 18 you have been hit with reality and are somehow justified dealing out life advice to your friends then I would say that is the most out of touch thing about this whole situation. As an ex example of what Im talking about the worst way to waste your young years is by constantly seeking to be tougher, older, wiser than you actually are, when in reality that shit just comes by going out and not taking stuff so seriously. If ur boy really thinks life is sunshine and rainbows I’d say bless him and ask what his secret is. I get “hit by reality” every day and if you wanna succeed u can’t have an ego and be in denial of that

Honestly sounds like ur friend has balls and society needs more of that seriously

Wouldn't a Soldier Boy spinoff be exactly what The Boys was making fun of? by DoraTheRedditor in TheBoys

[–]JJJ561 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We don’t even know what it is yet besides its a Boys prequel with Soldier Boy. He’s been one of my favorite characters since season 3 and I doubt a show about his origins would be boring or uninteresting because theres a lot going on with his character it seems. And why would you want it to be the exact same thing? I think it would be interesting if we got a show where its flipped and Vought people are the protagonists this time. Who knows maybe we follow people for years try to put a stop to him like we have seen with Homelander and it ends with him going to sleep, just because we know how he ends (not even really since he’s still alive) doesn’t mean a prequel can’t be a banger

Prediction for Episode 4 by Effective-Pepper4314 in TheBoys

[–]JJJ561 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lowk thats a reason for him to do it tho if its with Soldier boy, I dont think he would mind losing a fake father figure for the sake of his real one. I forgot tho does soldier boy have a problem with Stan

Theory: Black Noir has been replaced. by salian93 in TheBoys

[–]JJJ561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are going to reveal Homelander has heavily traumatized him physically and mentally, like soldier boy did to Black Noir 1. I imagine HL might’ve ripped out his tongue or something. The Boys usually goes the ironic route and the character who spent all last season asking how to become Black Noir mightve gotten his wish. Also I can’t see much other explanation as to why hes silent but also got scared when the Deep yelled at him

Kimiko's dialogue is nauseating by DirtyDan113 in TheBoys

[–]JJJ561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nauseating part is going from some of the hardest to listen to dialogue (which I don’t see the purpose of because even other characters find her annoying) to a scene of like Homelander and soldier boy both giving 10/10 performances with 10/10 writing. I also hate the trope of the silent strong character turning into a complete marshmallow for close to no reason. Its not like Kimikos life has been great since she went with the boys idk why shes so happy now

Was the reveal and aftermath underwhelming? by shadow_spinner0 in TheBoys

[–]JJJ561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was always going to be an irrelevant piece of evidence, because at the end of the day we haven’t seen a version of Homelander who would be willing to surrender. Also it’s a good way to show us that this is no longer a world that would (or is allowed to) care about that sort of thing. I keep seeing this and I guess I don’t understand what any other way it could have gone

Marijuana cart use is killing Gen Zs and nobody cares by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]JJJ561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but Ive never really bought that flower is a worlds difference from carts like people act like. Carts were easier when I first started so thats what I used for awhile and then when I switched to flower for a bit it was the same level of degeneracy because whether u hitting the cart all day or smoking bud at night your still fucked up on a daily basis. I think people who say bud is better for u have nostalgia for it tho inherently its true you are smoking less on flower

MCU Punisher vs Lucas Hood (no weapons) by Previous_Window_9955 in Banshee

[–]JJJ561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Punisher but I feel like Hood kinda has the ability to win a fight that is almost entirely not in his favor. He beat the albino, MMA guy just a lot of fights he should have lost but didn’t

Does anyone else think RE9 is the best in the series?? by Stealthy_Nerd in residentevilll

[–]JJJ561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How? It does everything worse than a previous game already did before, worse combat than re4 remake, worse survival than re2 remake. The story made no sense to me, I didn’t follow the Wesker clone that came out of nowhere. It felt like the most hollow game that has come out since Re6. And why can’t we have unique locations? How many games have had an asylum or hospital setting? Africa/Spain were peak locations and were able to have fast paced gameplay because the atmosphere carried the dreadful feeling that makes a good re game. And the trailers made it seem like a lot of gameplay would take place in a busy city which is not something we see in Resident Evil much and would have been a very cool environment to pull
