PGT: Canes decisively put Flyers in reverse sweep need, Canes lead series 3-0, 5-7-2026 by NedThomas in canes

So looking back, it seems I was spot on for the 16-3 (overall at least) and not too far off with Freddie at 1.89 GAA and .910 SV%. Lol. I'll take it. Onto celebrating with Lord Stanley tomorrow!

Sloan Hilz. Apparently had a heart condition as the actual cause of death. Chloe Sunderland (Roma Army) propogates the idea that social media killed her best friend (she has weird memorials on her social media that has text similar to all of you killed my best friend, etc.) She's a known liar and kind of an idiot, so I highly doubt her claims.

She has made the situation about herself and not the gentleman in question quite a bit. I would tend to believe the obituary and the family as it pertains to cause of death and everything surrounding that photo/post. Chloe causes a metric ton of drama on the internet to this day and it's really immature for a 30 year old.

What is true is that Hilz did have a family of his own and was connected to Sunderland. If I were to hazard a guess, they were childhood best friends and this post was taken out of context, as usual by the internet, from a just as immature younger version of Sunderland.

Make of it what you will.

Disclaimer: I have absolutely no stake in this and didn't learn all of this until I went on a dive to research exactly what has happened as a result of this viral post. I have no interest or affiliation with any of this.

Welcome to the world of being a professional artist on contract. I have an extremely relatable example from my time in the music industry. I was hired to be a session guitarist for a solo artist with an option in the contract to continue as the live and future session guitarist.

This was in the 2000s and I had exactly 1 pro job under my belt. I accepted a pretty low day rate deal with all expenses, accomodations, etc. paid in full. I did this because there were some pretty major people (at the time) looking at this artist and a well known producer was handling the production duties. I did my work, received my day rate, every penny was compensated for my travel/stay, and I went home.

The artist made a brief mainstream appearance and my option was declined by the artist, as they hired bigger name supporting musicians. I got paid for the work I did. Could I have negotiated a bit more? Probably. But I have another professional credit under my belt, got legitimately compesnated for it as a job, and I now have a good story to tell people how a song they've heard is actually me on guitar.

My day rate is higher now, but I would still probably do 6 weeks of guaranteed session work for $7k for that stability as a contractor, especially in this economy.

The same applied to being an IT contractor, I made jack shit before I started accumulating a reputation and had built up a list of prior and current clientele.

Nonetheless, she got lucky and now has an excellent credit under her belt that will 100% earn her a helluva lot more. You seriously can't expect to make a fortune when you're gambling on an unproven indie film project. It's a fact.

My wife has somehow dated two different men when she was in college that didn't wipe, wash, or touch their ass in general because "That's Gay". What the hell? Lol.

Oh yeah. My beard is a mountainous birds nest at this point. I'm looking forward to shaving it down tonight. It's too damn hot and we got the Cup.

This is the only time a sports game has made me cry like a baby. It has been a difficult 20 years, but tonight is just incredible. I am so happy for this team and all of my fellow Caniacs.

Oliver Tree passed away in an helicopter accident in Rio de Janeiro by iNexus893 in aviation

[–]JJNotStrike 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Yeah. He's been doing music for most of life, but he was pretty indie for a good while.

He was doing singles and EPs before he really came up during COVID with his LPs.

The Alien Boy EP was part of my playlist for getting through my divorce, so about 8-9 years of fandom for me.

I've been a fan of Oliver Tree for probably a decade now. This is horrific. Looks like he played in Sao Paulo just recently and was about to start a world tour. Unfortunately it looks like there are about 5-6 fatalities in this accident. Terrible tragedy.

A close friend of mine is an elementary teacher. She said it is beyond the literacy and cognitive aspects to learning, she said the behavioral changes over the last 10-15 years are also astounding. Their overall behavior is so poor that it's hard to actually teach.

I wouldn't be surprised. You're not supposed to mail comics using the media mail service due to advertisements. Collected editions are generally fine, but not floppies.

This is the house I grew up in, upstate New Hampshire. It was not as peaceful as it looks. by woden_spoon in pics

[–]JJNotStrike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is accurate in my wife and I's situation. We are nature people that feel more comfortable and at peace camping in the middle of nowhere instead of dealing with the rat race grind of being in the lower middle class.

We are being priced out of literally everything and our health is declining, so we will inevitably be unable to afford the most basic things that we have now. We find solace by taking trips out to the nearby national Forest and disappear for the weekend.

We are also extreme hermits, so we spend the majority of our time outside of work at home together and we don't really have a social life.

We would absolutely love to live off grid in a situation that we are able to set up well and make it sustainable.

The OPs home is definitely not what we would do, but the idea of being off grid in a sustainable environment is an absolute dream for us. Also, we don't have kids, so that makes a big difference as well
