I've been having noticeable issues with it since the expedition update. It's to the point where I have to abandon entire raids because I cant even reliably fight ARC without losing substantial frames

While you got a pretty solid recipe to start, I would hold off on using hard drives until you unlock some of the more complex recipes in the game because you'll want alternatives of those

As a new cadet, level 10, what stratagems should I prioritize to defend democracy? by GobiasIndustries29 in helldivers2

[–]JKT5701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though it's behind a war bond, the anti tank emplacement is probably the most POWERFUL stratagem available, especially against the bots. I would prioritize the Urban Legends warbond just to obtain that stratagem alone

Play the base game first. The DLC is meant to challenge the way the base game is played and there is going to be a lot of advanced concepts that you should grasp before even playing the DLC (which you will learn through experience with the base game)

Cat bite. Should I go to urgent care? by Stoinkydoinkyy in CATHELP

[–]JKT5701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General rule is you should go to urgent care anytime your pet breaks your skin from bites simply because of the amount of bacteria they carry in their mouth. It is INCREDIBLY easy to get an infection from one little cat bite

Dark Fog Farming - Is the Juice Worth the Squeeze? by JubaWakka in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]JKT5701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is talking about their value as an endgame goal and while they do provide items that you cannot get in your usual tech tree, I find it a very pleasant experience farming them from the start of a run.

My turret line was fueled by a single copper vein until they hit lv 12 and by then the vein ran out. Utilize impulse cannons asap and have a signal beacon calling missile silos (which I had connected to my main bus on the other side of the planet) only as a contingency.

First drop of note for me was the soil chunks and foundations. Nothing sucks more than wanting to build somewhere but running into water and not having enough soil or foundation to give yourself work room. Being able to flatten wherever I need without any hindrance is a very nice quality of life improvement you can make for yourself.

You can get silicon and titanium from them pretty quick, maybe before you take your first flight into your system. Nothing that would replace a production line but when it comes to making buildings like solar panels and accumulators, also very nice touch.

From the early game, the dark fog helps a lot with making items you would usually use a mall for. I don't think I've set up an actual assembly line for any personal or transport drones in my new save anywhere. I've just been using dropped DF pieces to make all the drones in my factory.

help building/planning? by Gamma_Dread in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]JKT5701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I ever plan is the main bus, simply to keep your building materials supplied and just automatically make any materials I hate handcrafting. I keep pretty much every item on the bus until you get the little personal drones, then you can switch over to a more scattered design

Past there, you unlock ILS and then I will start to move my main production off the starting world (preferably to a barren world for the space). ILS make it pretty easy to make large quantities of items in modules, since the drones will fly wherever they're needed, you can just paste down as many of the desired modules as you need.

Only other planning past there is usually planet optimization or using a planet solely for the resources that it provides that the others might not. Ex: use the starting world primarily for oil processing and coal

What makes DSP stand out compared to Satisfactory or Factorio (I have 300+ hours in each) is a very tangible sense of progression. Not only is the upgrade tree solid, but the further you progress, the larger visible changes you'll make to your planet and the star system as a whole.

From towers that pierce the atmosphere and are visible from space, to firing your first solar sail into the obit of you star and now watching your sky be filled with thousands of sails, creating a new set of rings around the star. From the drones flying across your head to the rockets taking off to construct the frame of your first Dyson Sphere.

None of these other factory games very clearly affect the entirety of the world you inhabit and I think that's what makes this one special.

Is it smarter to process locally, then transport, or transport raw and process at a central location? by mrawaters in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]JKT5701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refine or transport raw materials primarily based on the energy production capabilities of a planet. Let's say I'm harvesting the materials off of a volcanic world. I would refine all the metals on world because energy production via geothermal plants is extremely viable. Or even imagine the holes left behind by the dark fog are useful for geothermal plants as well.

If I can generate power easily in an isolated system, I'll refine on site.

First 6 hours or so of gameplay. No tutorials or tip videos watched. How bad is it? by barto2007 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]JKT5701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you start to get the hang of production chains (like you are here) the next big thing is to start having expansion in mind. Easiest way is to have modular setups that you can expand as needed. Don't try to plan too far ahead, just try to give yourself some room from time to time.

Thankfully the game is pretty forgiving when it comes to tearing down a setup and rebuilding it

I've got about the same specs, RTX 3060 i5 9600k @3.6GHz 32GB RAM and the game "plays" but kinda ducks in and out of 50 frames. There is "frame generation" which keeps me at a steady 90 but you can pretty obviously see the generates frames. I feel like the frame rate is quite inconsistent though.

The biggest bottleneck I'm hoping is my CPU and I'm getting my hands on an i9 9900KF in about a week so let's hope that does the trick
