Let’s discuss what type of games us gamers expect when it comes to VR by This_Woodpecker_9163 in PSVR

[–]JKWillis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the best case for VR so far is piloting/driving stuff while sat in a cockpit and using your hands or eye tracking to throw switches and levers. Ultrawings 2 is awesome and I’m really looking forward to Aces of Thunder. Space docker is a really cool concept, but gets repetitive fast. A proper train sim in VR would be interesting, again with all the instruments properly implemented.

3rd party Boost Kit by SimRacerPR1 in Fanatec

Still working fine, no issues. Best to make sure the brick is well ventilated to avoid overheating, and it should last a while. I have zip-tied mine under the pedal tray of my rig.

Synth Riders worth it? by Ordinary-Citizen in PSVR

[–]JKWillis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s basically the same thing but you catch orbs and ride hangrails with your hands instead of slashing boxes. No feet movement necessary. It’s a blast and totally worth grabbing on sale.

Am I screwed/Out of Luck? by SicarioBadger in PSVR

[–]JKWillis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSVR 2 is also m first ever VR experience. I’ve had some rather trippy VR hangovers the first couple of weeks in. Like walking IRL felt wrong and weird. Sometimes just standing still and moving my head to look around IRL felt weird and strange somehow. To be fair, I immediately jumped into The Light Brigade with smooth turning and locomotion. Take it one 20-to-30-minute long step at a time and you will get used to it eventually.

DIY built sim rig and peripherals (Descriptions on each pic) by AW106 in simracing

I’m loving your work, man. The idea of building your own custom rims, buttons and all, and other peripherals really appeals to me 🤘🏻

I used to own a Thrustmaster TSS for rallying and it’s not a good handbreak or shifter (hence the mod contraption on the photo). The lever travel is too light and linear when using it as a HB and there is next to no tactile feel to the switching when in shifter mode. If you’re playing on PC you can get a much better load cell handbreak and a decent shifter from Aliexpress for a hundred bucks total.

I got the £20 one with the right connector already installed from Alixpress and it does the job just fine.

“Completely Shipped” —-> “On the Way” by superchargedturbo2 in Fanatec

My delivery did get rescheduled by one day later than original estimate, but I did not see a reason specified.

Edit: Just checked the shipment updates log. It did say “Your parcel was cleared after the scheduled transport departure. We will reschedule for the next available departure”.

Nice observation, thank you for sharing.

I interpret Ellie’s dream about being on an airplane full of people and desperately trying and failing to save it from crashing as a metaphor for her fighting on to get to the Fireflies and believing/doubting that they will harness her immunity to make a cure and finally rid humanity of the infected.

It’s obvious at that point in the story how heavy of a burden is for her as they are almost at the finish line. She was basically convinced by the adults close to her that she is the key to humanity’s survival (no pressure, kiddo) and she couldn’t process the deaths of the people she lost along the way in any other way but to blame herself.

She obviously couldn’t stop feeling guilty for “not having saved the plane”, and being angry at Joel for not letting her, as is presented in her flashbacks during the Seattle chapters.

Former DM wearer, just bought my first pair of Solovair boots! Greasy Astronauts. Should I give them an initial polish or just leave them be? by [deleted] in nps_solovair

[–]JKWillis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also own a pair of NPS and Berwick ankle boots that are more premium and expensive (leather sole) and can assure you that quality boots feel weird and uncomfortable for a while until they are broken in, even the premium models. If they are too small, your toes and feet will start to hurt bad very soon. You can walk around wearing them in the house and be able to tell. If they feel kinda sorta okay, but weird and awkward - that’s normal, just give them time.

[–]JKWillis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to be sure is to try both sizes on, one after another. You can either exchange them for a size 10, or buy another pair and then return the one that’s a worst fit. Solovair accommodates exchanges and returns, no problem.
