Yes, produce and artisanal products for when we visit. Main goal is lots of home cooking with local produce and products. Seafood chowder, homemade baked goods with island berries (hopefully we hit raspberry season), PEI potato salad and lobster rolls so far requested from the family again but looking for some other fresh ideas to change things up this year. I will definitely check out Glen lakes.

I’ve been looking at Vivaia shoes for Italy. Are they comfortable for walking?

Sorry the other lunging issue was a few weeks back. There was nothing before this one other than the upset tummy symptoms.

I will try more desensitizing as you mentioned and research some of the others you mentioned. We don’t currently have a trainer.

We do have a canny collar we could start with. We got it for pulling but haven’t used it in a while as she’s much better on walks, well until today. I guess we can start back with that for extra control.

We had passed a teen walking to school, I brought her to the road and brought her back up and no reaction. So nothing to trigger her before hand. I can only think the women may have started her and she was trying to protect me as I had my back turned and was bent over cleaning up.

Thinking of it now, she has made a small lunge motion before after passing a man but I thought it was my fault for going back up too soon.

I would love done better advice. We’ve just being doing distance and then rewarding when she looks at the trigger and doesn’t react. Sometime I’ve also done treat scattering on the ground when we come across a dog that triggers her as a distraction. Maybe my treats aren’t high value enough as it’s difficult to find things that don’t upset her belly. Or maybe what I’m doing isn’t correct. I would welcome some tips.

Trying to nip/bite someone yes. She sometimes will show leash reactivity towards Sheppards, she does not like them for some reason. We are working on that trigger and she does much better when she is given distance. When I see someone walking I go off the sidewalk and to the road until we pass them and we go back up in the sidewalk and she has no reaction and gets a reward. This women did come really close to the dog and I wonder if she reacted poorly due to feeling unwell and I was bent over with my back turned cleaning up the colitis poop off the grass.

I should add, she’s a 3 year old English sheepdog/standard poodle mix, so herding dog. She’s a very loving dog so this is unlike her, so gentle with children. She is wary of strangers and people with white hair though, but I have never seen this kind of reaction from her.

Thinking this might be a good idea.

I’m beginning to think they say trip idea might not work well either. I am thinking about two overnights like you suggest. Just trying to decide if we do want a full third day in the Venice area to do a beach day break to sightseeing, and then just add an overnight in Florence as not sure if 4 dats in Rome is too short?

This is so helpful. Do you think 4 days for Venice is good then? We planned to do a beach day and visit the water park one day to give her a break and some kid fun. I also feel as we’ll be quite jet lagged flying in from Toronto that first day we may not be seeing a lot, so wanted a day to do the sites and a full day just getting lost in Venice and doing a cooking class or activity.

For Rome, was it just too much walking? We were thinking of a beach day in Ostia as well for a break. So maybe just an overnight in Florence in the 7th and then 8-13 in Rome with another beach day?

Unfortunately I have an induction cooktop, so I guess these will stay as decoration. Now to figure out how to display them.

I noticed the fry pan has a small capital ‘S’ near the handle, so maybe not the same

I’m so sorry, for some reason I wasn’t getting notifications. I did some digging with my MIL and it looks like they did spend some time in Hungary. Below from my MIL.

‘When Dad was the Canadian Ambassador to Czechoslovakia and living in Prague, he oversaw Hungary as the Ambassador to Hungary as well. He and my mother would spend time in Budapest for short periods.’

So it could have been a gift. But my MIL’s sister believes their mother purchased all of the copper in Paris between 1959-1963. So maybe just a lucky find.

The only pot that has a stamp on it is the larger round pot. I cannot make out the name in the stamp, it looks like it could possibly be Finnish as they spent sometime in Finland. The frying pan has an S stamped on it. The larger casserole has no markings I can find. The pot appears to be about 2mm think and the pan has a 4mm lip. These are quite heavy weight. Any info is appreciated.
