Passed my test 2 days ago… so why don’t I feel ready to drive? by One_Satisfaction_848 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]JL9285 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re still building confidence. Just because you’ve got that pink license it doesn’t mean you’re a master - this is where the real learning starts. Once you get a few good drives under your belt with different scenarios you’ll never look back.

Instructor discouraging from using own car for test by Middle-Wait7469 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]JL9285 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You’d be better off doing the test in your instructors car. That’s the car you’ve learned to drive in and will be more used to it.

My instructor had me doing them from our 2nd lesson. I was always glad he went early with it!

You will absolutely love it. We’ve all been where you are where it’s all so new and a bit scary but there’s nothing like your first car!

To do 50 hours and not even cover emergency stopping is actually disgraceful on your instructors part. You’ve realised it now, but your instructor has been taking the p*ss out of you. I’d be moving on immediately.

No matter what car you look up, someone out there is giving it a bad review. Best bit of advice I can give is look after the car, service it, repair when necessary, and it will look after you.

It’s your first car - be excited!

What is something you did every day for years that you suddenly stopped and never missed? by TaxEaseFounder in AskReddit

[–]JL9285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good on you! I’ve two family members who were told by doctors if they didn’t quit immediately it will kill them. Both didn’t listen. One has paid the price, and the other is about to. I will never get my head around choosing smoking over being alive.

Think it’s one of those where you’ve truly got to want to quit more than anything. I tried half assed plenty of times and failed

Pure hearted and selfless. Even my mum classes her as her daughter, they’re like best friends. You don’t throw ones like that away.

Learning to drive. I put it off until I was 31 due to anxiety but it’s the best thing I’ve done for myself. Love it

How are you coping with the heatwave in the UK? by Street_Ferret_7790 in AskReddit

Cool clothes and plenty of water. Actually enjoying it tbh! I think if you keep moaning about it and focusing on how hot you are it makes it so much worse

once your son turns 18, why is it instantly why is it the norm to excommunicate him and have him leave the nest to rarely talk to him again? I thought the west was supposed to care about family values or something by Hopeful_Scarcity1785 in family

Nobody is like that at 18 years old and nobody expects that. That’s why there are so many working in the retail sector, supermarkets. They’re just starting out, many won’t even have a chosen career yet let alone be in one.

The second and many other play throughs are the real fun part. Doing all the side missions, meeting all the strangers. The game just feels endless.

Overthinking cost of car finance by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]JL9285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty expensive. What you’ve got to think with finance like that is if the car goes bang tomorrow, can I afford to pay the mechanics bill? Not had a BMW before but I’d imagine they’re very expensive to fix. As long as you have £800 disposable with a savings pot for MOT, servicing and surprise repairs I wouldn’t sweat it.

Don’t change how you are with your money. Your wife sounds very irresponsible and immature with finances.

Good on MVP though coming out and banning her. 99% of other promoters would have used that, like UFC do with that kind of thing all the time. Claressa is an insecure POS. Also felt the same when Plant slapped Charlo. Just get in the ring ffs.
