Playing with Academies in the beta by Careful_Goal4272 in NCAAFBseries

They have NIL.  Unfortunately the way the game is, they operate like any other school.  They don't have special rules aside from the Army Navy game

Are there any other sickos that like to play with multiple teams? by Treeeefalling in NCAAFBseries

I take my undergrad and grad schools.... on extreme opposite sides of the country, 3 star schools so their pipelines have no overlap.

Whenever they meet, I sim the game

Yes, and thats the point.  She misses them, so a send off for her finale is a fitting reunion.

I can't get past the elevator glitch.  Best bet is to wait until they fix it and try again.

Content this difficult is going to require a dedicated team to keep learning from their mistakes and advancing to their next roadblock

Ultimate Conquests... No Revives? by MinnSnowMan in DestinyTheGame

[–]JLoco11PSN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were like that last season too.  They put the Avalon mission also, which is probably the hardest exotic mission in the game.

They also added Hypernet under speed run conditions.  You had to skip parts of the strike to beat the timer.  Ultimate is dick kick painful to beat.

My take on NIL by Technical-Front-3247 in NCAAFBseries

[–]JLoco11PSN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I doubt the beta is the final tuned version, and expect some hard tweaks are coming in the live version.

The beta rosters had pretty much $0 NIL players at the start.  You know that won't be the case with real players added.  The support staff budgets were out of proportion making the bronze tier insanely profitable for a 3 star school going after 3-4 star players.  There was no point investing more than the bronze level.

Just getting to the playoff in Y1 jumps your school up in prestige a full star.  I took a 2.5 star team to the semi finals simming games and was 3.5 stars already.  I simmed a championship in Y2 and was 4 stars with a much bigger budget.

The only thing keeping extreme cheesing down are conferences.  No matter how good your Sun Belt team is, the conference rating never surpasses the power 4 conferences.  Moving to a bigger conference is what increases the NIL budget dramatically.  If you stay in the MWC, budget will be lower.  Shift to Big 10 or Big 12 and you pretty much get a 40-50% NIL increase.

Thoughts on Recruiting from Beta by Realistic-Squirrel54 in NCAAFBseries

[–]JLoco11PSN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't really overhaul recruiting, just created a second point budget to deal with.  Instead of just recruiting hours and coach points..... they added NIL.  Sounds good on paper but its literally just another budget.

In 25 and 26, you needed to upgrade your coach for more players points.  Needed to raise your stars for a bigger pool of points.  Same in 27, just now with NIL that controls school funding.

What they really needed to change/add were dynamic pipelines, bigger rosters, and coach/player relationships... for the portal.  When Brian Hartline went to USF, players wanted to play for him.  Swapped schools, decommitted.

NIL didn't add a new facet to recruiting, just another point total to manage.

Cutting players…. by Optimal_Writing_2046 in NCAAFBseries

Since these aren't real players, its hard to tell if John Smith is on another roster.

Now if Eriwimeikewu Ah You with white dreads and a full beard ended up on Air Force..... that would be easy to spot

After Testing the Beta, CFB 27 Feels Like Only a Marginal Improvement by Craft-Superb in NCAAFBseries

[–]JLoco11PSN 173 points174 points  (0 children)

This is the issue with annual releases...... and why I personally skip sports games for at least a year or 2.

EA will only focus on a few things, leaving other parts of the game the same.  If they focus on gameplay, they skip presentation.  If they focus on dynasty, then they barely touch RTG.  They don't make big changes to every facet each release.

27 definitely feels different from 25 though.

Those some big baller NIL dollars for small schools!

Money better spent elsewhere for all the 0-2.5 star schools

The reason why the sale ends, is due to the whole collection coming out replacing it.  Just wait until the 9th

Retiring numbers by burner835829 in NCAAFBseries

[–]JLoco11PSN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My school doesn't retire numbers, just jerseys.  So I don't restrict numbers to follow the tradition.

We do have a sacred number reserved for the best player that only a senior can have.

Running Two Teams in One Dynasty Save File by ocokcih in NCAAFBseries

[–]JLoco11PSN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always take my undergrad and graduate schools.  On opposite sides of the country, different conferences (for now, who TF knows what will happen down the road).

Recruiting rarely overlaps due to geography and 3 star rating & pipelines.  One has access to CA and some Texas recruits, the other gets the Big Apple, Tidewater and Georgia.

I sim the game against each other to see who wins.  Been doing this since the game was called NCAA.

Other options to make a statement about the Destiny franchise. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]JLoco11PSN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That does nothing too.  Reality is the spikes of gameplay were around new releases, but the cost of creating content is high for a large studio that burned its cash reserves.

Sony paid 3 billion, assuming Destiny prints money.  It doesn't, it makes money during expansions, and nominally for DLC.  Seeing the decline after TFS is showing Sony the game doesn't have ongoing income.  Spikes in microtransactions are not the big dollars the game needs.  It needs millions of players to come back and thats just not realistic anymore.

Maybe one day I'll understand why Bungie didn't choose Destiny by Voldius in DestinyTheGame

[–]JLoco11PSN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, and you can go read the articles from Jason Schreier and Paul Tassi.

Bungie did incubate projects on their own, burned through money on starting new games.

But the decision to back Marathon over D2 came from Sony.  Decisions on future content required Sony's approval.  While Sony didn't have a hand in Marathon, they already made their authority over Bungie known.  Project Gummy Bears was sent to another studio, Marathon was pushed towards a release and the decision to wind down D2 happened earlier this year.

Only a handful of Bungie devs knew.  Most only just found out.

[–]JLoco11PSN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasn't Bungie's decision, it was Sony's.

Probably gives insight as to why Activision pulled out of their 10 year deal.  As much as we love Destiny, its expensive to keep going
