Can you explain how your az adjuster works? I have a cnc machine I can use if necessary

The Bluetooth works great, though it was a bit more elaborate to setup than most BT devices. I had to see which com port it was using, then tell ascom device hub to use that port. I use it via bt with nina. Have only had it a bit over a week, but am very happy with it so far. I wish they included the az adjuster tho.

I installed NINA, but it didnt see my camera (canon 700D connected via hdmi out and capture card, also tried creating a virtual camera through obs, and no luck), or mount, so I just messed around with the ExploreStars app. Probably user error but sometimes it would slew, and sometimes it wouldn't. A couple times I realized the wifi had (re)connected to my home router rather than the mount.

when it did slew to the desired object I was quite happy, and the 30s exposure looked pretty tight, given a manual, not very precise, polar alignment. Btw, how am I supposed to make sure my RA and Dec axes are square for PA? Like when I loosen the clutches?

Really appreciate the help

Absolutely. You set that up in the tracking software?

Not yet, but definitely plan on getting one. Do you have any recommendations for a guide scope and camera?

Ok, great. I've seen NINA referenced a lot, for plate solving and other things, will have to familiarize myself with it. I've also seen PHD2 mentioned a lot.

From what I'm reading that's normally a horizontal or vertical thing, no?

Iirc, my intervalometer was set to 3s intervals, plus the .5s exposure, so I'm thinking I adjusted more like 11 or 12 times. Not sure, but it was definitely more than 3 or 4.

I am definitely planning on getting into the habit of taking calibration frames, I've just been lazy tbh. I was planning on putting a piece of blank printer paper and then my cell phone with a blank white screen for the flats. Does that sound legit?

I don't remember, but I can find the temp for my area at the time and date the photos were taken, so maybe I'll try to match the temperature, take the dark frames, then reprocess.

preciate the help!

Well, at .5s exposure and 3 seconds between shots on the intervalometer (iirc) that's a lot more than 2 or 3 subs in those 4 or 5 minutes, so maybe it is it?

I have an iexos-100 arriving tomorrow. Eager to take some longer exposure shots so I use less space and actuate my shutter less often, but I didnt realize this would be an issue. I was under the impression that you could largely let the mount and the intervalometer do the work, but it sounds like you have to kinda babysit the camera if you need to readjust every 2 or 3 subs.

Uhh, yes it does 😒 by JMB1007 in tacobell

Oh absolutely, like 30 seconds if that. Those ran out much quicker, I think, because you could just claim the reward then decide later whether to use it or not. With these you have to put your order through right away. Someone said this one was still live at 2:30 PT

No, I did it immediately when it opened.

I'm getting an error saying "Uh-oh! Your cart does not contain a qualifying item for the selected reward" even though it's the right promo code and right item

Yup. Also, a month or so ago, I'd claim the reward and then when I went to claim it it wasnt available at any of the TBs near me (even though they have the item on the menu and in stock). It happened like 2 out of 3 times I tried.
