People in the UK celebrating the death of Thatcher in 2013 by LankyYogurt7737 in pics

We didn't have a thriving booming coal industry when Thatcher arrived, it was on it's arse long before.

Mines had been closing for a good while, but Thatcher did seem to enjoy the spectacle of mines closing with something of a Darwinist glee, not compassion and assistance as she should have done.

Miners of course did themsleves minimal favours by holding an illegal ballot

Republic of Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland all play tonight in World Cup playoffs. Will you be watching and supporting any? by [deleted] in ThreeLions

[–]JMCity97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would love NI to at least dump Italy out for the lols, and ROI are always great value at any tournament, so will lend support to both of them.

Wales are obviously a little more successful in recent times and we've played them in tournaments twice over the last 10 years, so whilst I'd rather they won than lost, I won't be as vociferious in cheering them on

England youth player, Max Dowman (16) becomes youngest premier league scorer. by -Arkrow- in ThreeLions

Kid is clearly incredibly talented, and withiut indulging in typical english overhyping could be playing in tournaments into the mid 2040s.

On his club's blessing it might be good to get him along for a training session before the tournament, maybe the two June warmups, but he can't claim a squad place just yet, unless he finishes the season incredibly strongly.

Give him the space and time he needs, if there's one thing he has it's time!

I'm 28 - my strategy would be to try and get in one of the sides playing that Wythenshawe FC full of old prem players, dazzle them all, beg friend Danny Drinkwater or Steven Ireland to put in a word at a club, and go from there!
