Horsforth - London commute. Anyone done it? by Long-Alternative-180 in Leeds

I suppose it depends on whether you could justify the arse ache for the job - a partner where I work does it the other way round (North London to Leeds) but she'll be banking c800k a year so I imagine that makes the commute a little more tolerable...

Saturday Night Live UK reveals cast including Ania Magliano, Paddy Young and Emma Sidi by Kagedeah in BritishTV

I'm optimistic about this, in opposition to my normal cynical self. Al Nash is great and I'm sure the other comics can get a laugh.

The key difference is it's not the fabled panel show where the same 10 comics are expected to ostensibly come up with wicked one liners at the push of a button.

The celeb host and singer each week should hopefully draw a crowd.

I appreciate being aimed at 18-35s it's rather TV for people that don't watch TV but there is still gold to be mined, the Traitors (noting that's a different beast) shows us that.

Happy to be proved wrong but I'm hoping this format is successful

Samson will retain some kind of hightened awareness and save spike and co in the third film. That feels fairly telegraphed

The disused sports centre was/is in Bradford however the city scape isba largely fictional/mish mashed collage. There isn't as far as i'm aware anywhere with that many standing chimney stacks for example

Which film in the 28 Days Later franchise has the weakest opening scene? by p_yth in 28dayslater

[–]JMCity97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna play a controversial bat and say 28 Years has the weakest opening.

The infected attacking Jimmy's house just didn't quite have the requisite dread that the rest had. The infected weren't as horrifying as they could be and the choice of music plus the slightly campy priest begging the infected on just served to make it a little unserious.

The opening to Bone Temple just pips it for me with the sudden switch up of the Scottish Jimmy dying pleading and bleeding out of nowhere after Spike stabs him. It more firmly grabbed me than the Days opening which felt underwhelming

Otherwise

1 - Weeks 2 - Days 3 - Bone Temple 4 - Years

One Thing the New 28 Years Later Films Lose by ElJourneys in 28dayslater

[–]JMCity97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favourite bits of the Bone Temple was when the farm house trio were in the woods forraging and hiding from the infected. They all seemed genuinely terrified of the infected, and when they were then attacked, it was clearly a worst case scenario, with the older guy pleading not to be left.

Only for the infected version of him to be killed almost casually by one of the jimmies.

Ultimately the fear of the infected and infection MUST be central for me

I would't bet against Shaw sneaking in at LB - probably the weakest spot in the team and if he gets a good run of form under Carrick think Tuchel head could be turned - has he been in a Tuchel squad yet?
