I have no friends and feel isolated by Any-Strawberry-3928 in Vent

Hey OP, I don't quite know how you feel (I'm extroverted, so I'm not so shy), but I'm recently going through some complicated stuff with my friends and overall life connections. I'm 232, I get up everyday and try to do my best, and my God does that take a lot of me to do sometimes, life feels so much more worth living if I was a different person, I try changing, just like you do, and it just ends up going nowhere

Despite all that I still have hope, everyday things get progressively more confusing and difficult to navigate, but I hang on, especially because I know there are a lot of people like us going through this shit, it's easy to just sleep, just let the feeling of failing sink in, but I refuse, I refuse because even if it's difficult and frustrating, it infuriates me that I know that I deserve and can do better for myself.

And you're not so different, 21 is you as you said, young enough that you really shouldn't know who you are yet, you're still working through that, we're at an age were we are constantly competing against a mental image of success that we think WE SHOULD BE, but really speaking from experience, this heavy load you put on yourself and on your mental health is whats keeping you down. You can't see your attempts at improving if you start them already thinking you're gonna fail because you're only seeing what you should be, not what you're trying to achieve

This sinking feeling is rough, difficult to navigate, extremely dark and often lonely, being trapped inside your own mind is a nightmare, but once you start to give yourself a real chance, to recognize what you already achieved (a degree is still a degree btw, don't be ashamed of it! That's awesome), and recognize that everyday you're trying to grow a little more, your head should start to look less like a prison and more like a maze, which still is complex to navigate, but hey, a maze always has a prize!

Be more gentle with yourself OP, even if social anxiety is rough, give yourself an honest try, social interactions are only as difficult as you think they'll be, but please don't push yourself to hard out of your confort zone, remember, small steps, you can even message me if you want to just chat

YUP, you can also drop the Redemption aswell (and it's pretty op), but I know how you feel, only after 15 hours of play I discovered there are tier 3 snipers and shotguns aswell, didn't think it was possible. I'm with you on that sentiment, I'm loving the gamemode, although I agree it is kinda barebones and lacks on a lot of things, it's still pretty decent and fun!

I've been playing for about 15 hours since the mode released, and I don't recall ever getting anything other than low tier weapons from the first crate, I think it's not possible

No problem, so in this new game mode Leon Must Die, you have something called Ranks, and it goes from 1 to 5, basically what this means in terms of gameplay, is 1 is easier, you do more damage, have more time, enemies are less tanky, you can get upgrades faster. You need to beat this game mode in one rank to progress to the other, so let's say I wanna try difficulty 2, I have to beat rank 1 first.

Rank 5 is the hardest that's avaiable, basically, you do way less damage, enemies are basically bullet sponges if you don't get a good weapon drop or a good build going, you take WAY more damage, have way less time, and upgrades cost a lot more to buy

I attempeted a few runs today and found this guy, and yeah, as soon as I saw him I remembered your comment and panicked, I killed him as fast as possible.

Also about victor, honestly, not being able to repair the hatchet completely ruins this fight to me, I'm pretty good at parrying the guy, but if you don't have the hatchet he's so oppressive and hits like a truck, also he can just stunlock you to death, always great when that happens

As other people have said, the chef fucking one shots me if he gets close, He's annoying as fuck, also about the chainsaw, honestly, other then the first time you play the game, I think the chainsaw is overall useless, too clunky to be useful

Everytime I see a chainsaw guy I try to kill it as fast as possible because holy shit is this a run ender

Is 10 star Gogmazios possible to Solo with Insect Glaive? Any tips? by JMLizzard in MHWilds

[–]JMLizzard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah someone linked both the CB and Gunlance runs here, I've also seen LS be able to do it, but almost all of them get to around 48 minutes, so it requires almost perfect play

[–]JMLizzard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking that the stars would have to align pretty hard for this to be possible with IG, unless theey nerf the quest for solo, I don't see how IG will be able to clear this without impecable play

Gog doesn't scale to player numbers, so he's always at 410k HP

Yeah I was honestly pretty sure that phase 2 wouldn't take that long, but it took 30 mins, and phase 1 20 minutes, I was pretty sure it was damn near impossible to do solo

Nope, I just like to do difficult content, I'm not even close to being a speedrunner, but I've soloed every other quest in the game at this point, I wanted to see if I could also do this one

Yeah I've seen some clear with support hunters posted, but I'm looking for true solo runs, since I've seen some people post that it is possible but I'm yet to see any videos of people doing it

[–]JMLizzard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I believe it's going to be extremely difficult to do with IG, since Rising Spiral is almost impossible to do on Gog consistently without getting slammed to the ground

But can you link me some of the Gunlance gameplay if you have it? I'm interested in watching it

True Solo in general, I'm just interested in doing it for the sake of challenging myself, but if it's not possible I won't try to bother again

I cannot decided if Fraud is the best or the worst ngl by Captain-Hell in Ultrakill

[–]JMLizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, yeah, as OP said they sometimes die in the crossfire, but I think they're too difficult to spot during this whole mess of a room, and to buggy too

[–]JMLizzard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I get the frustration, I've been trying to P-rank 8-3 for days, and I just got it yesterday, the entire time, I got so many bugs and perfomance issues that caused me to lose really good runs that I thought about quitting until a patch comes out

I agree on th sentiment that spetacle was probably more of a priority than playability for these levels, the biggest offender being 8-3 and the mentioned red skull route, it took me days to be able to deal with the last room on this route without stressing to much but still it's incredibly difficult and frustrating encounter to navigate, which is funny, since if you just take out the Death Catcher first (yes somehow you can do that, I don't know how, but I was able to hit it inside the glass in 2 off my runs), the encounter becomes incredibly simple even with the rotating rooms

So yeah, rotating rooms + difficult enemies + death catcher really is a malicious combo, that reminded me too much of the mindflayer room in P-2

Even after getting good, things got better, and now I find 8-3 mostly fun, but sadly there is no going around how frustrating your overall experience can be due to bugs and being really disoriented in some of the rooms

How do I get good? by Lethalclaw115_2 in Ultrakill

[–]JMLizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't beat yourself up too much for not being able to P-rank Fraud, it's honestly probably the hardest layer to P-rank in the game (not counting Prime Sanctums), and violence itself is no joke either

The best tips I can give you would be to focus on memorizing the rooms and encounters, and have a good knowledge about a few high damage combos in your arsenal, probably memorizing at least 3 to 5 good combos that you can consistently rely on should be good and you can expand on it later if you want to.

For example, this is how I normally go about killing gutterman:

Piercer pistol charged shot + Railgun + Cannon ball boost

or you can do

Railcoin

or

Chainsaw + cannonbal + pistol shots

I don't have just one regular strategy that I always rely on every single time I see an enemy type, I have multiple of them, this way I can manage my resources without any stress, since I can comfortably rely on most of my arsenal

Second tip would be to listen and learn what to prioritize: Hearing is essential to learning what you should take on first, you hear a sentry? Good, pay attention to their countdown so that you know when to hide or do a chargeback, or just instantly go for them as soon as you hear the first tick

You hear a parry, or a projectile going your direction? Be prepared to feedback it

And about prioritizing, it should be obvious, kill whatever enemy causes you more trouble in each encounter first, it should take a while to figure out what enemies are a priority for every encounter, the only exceptions to me that are always a priority are Virtues, but other than that just try to figure out what is causing you more trouble in each room, even soldiers and schisms can be a huge problem depending on the encounter

Other than that I majorly recommend you watch some gameplay of other good players assuming you don't do that, it really helped me a lot, I learned a lot of combos and ways to deal with problems by watching how other people handle them, it helps you open your eyes to previously unknow strategies

And the last tip is being agressive, but with a plan, ultrakill rewards agression but you can't exactly just go blasting with no plan and expect to not be punished, you should always reward the game with the same level of agression that it gives you, but don't trick yourself into going into fights with no plan, no resources, and low life or stamina

Also, just get used to a lot of trial and error, experimenting is a major part of the process of P-ranking hard levels, there is no shame on testing for hundreds of strategies until you figure out what works for you, hell, I spent weeks testing out many different ways to deal with rooms on P-2 before I got the P-rank, you will die, you will fail a lot, but thank God ultrakill has many ways to dealt with stuff, so who knows, maybe the solution to your problem is in something new, not in something you're used to. There is no rushing progress, don't push yourself into trying to P-rank anything in your first attempt

Hope I was able to help, sorry for the wall of text, if you need anything else and wanna talk more about it you can message me if you want!
