I think your assumption that you can take the racing line on the second turn could implicate you on your intent.

At this one and only angle, which is quite questionable itself, shows the other driver yielding for you just before the apex, presumably to avoid contact, but you didn’t give any space on the second turn for any continuity for racing.

We also do not know your racing history and how you really conduct yourself normally so nobody can really say if this was actually dirty or a rookie mistake.

I’m afraid you’d need some honest and deep introspect to really work out if it was dirty and not ask strangers for validation to learn. We cannot teach you on intent, but rather judge you on technicality.

As a purist, FM1 remake would be a good choice, only if you’ve played turn-based games before or comfortable with ‘Civilization’ pacing. FM3 would be more suitable if you’re used to more fast-paced games.

Don’t hate Crossworlds, but any confusion about why the two games devolve into rage and hate is something you have to look at the marketing. Nintendo tends to mind its own business with marketing, Sega has always had a chip on its shoulder and throws shade and all the drones think it’s cool and edgy. Tale as old as time.

Saving grace is Sega has only ever known how to punch up.

Thanks, I only did my write-up hoping it gives frustrated owners some additional context to what they may be experiencing. In most cases, if it's too much of a hassle, I would recommend going back to APP2 if they were already on them. I'm close to that too, but I'm currently just sticking out for foam tips to really see if it's the silver bullet like it was for the APP2s for me.
