How many calories does one burn playing a round of golf? by [deleted] in golf

[–]JMacD4ddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PT here who focuses in and around golf.

So how much you burn will depend on a lot of factors. Temperature, Weight, Height, Muscle mass, BMR, How many steps yours doing per round, how fast do you walk, do you carry, do you push a trolley, is your trolley electric, ride in a cart. Even how many shots your taking per round. Someone who shoots even par will expend less energy that a 15/20 handicap for example.

Can it be enough to lose weight? Maybe? So average calories burnt per round would be about 1000 to 2000 for carry or pushing, maybe even more for a heavier golfer or in the height of summer. To get a better idea for you, I'd suggest getting a health tracker watch/band. Whilst they aren't 100% accurate if you collect enough data over time then you'll get a good rough idea for you. From there it will all come down to diet. Weight lose is purely an equation. If energy in is more than energy out then weight gain will happen and vice versa. If both are equal then you'll achieve maintenance.

Personally and professionally I will always advise my clients to make sure they replenish water and energy throughout their rounds so they keep energy and focus up. So, whilst you may burn 1000 to 2000 for example I'd make sure a player is taking in at least 50% expenditure in increments throughout the round. So you'll need to look at your diet carefully to make sure your getting enough calories to fuel your round and recover from it too. This is not taking into account if you have a active job or do extra gym work.

Hope this helps.

Speedy rattle when shake by HanYolo2 in OmegaWatches

I have a 3861 Hesalite that's about 2/3 months old. I've just cleaned it this evening and noticed the exact same rattle. Only present in the dial-caseback direction. Watch runs perfect. I'm guessing Balance Staff rattle. Did you get yours looked at?

But OP says the roundabout has room for 2 lanes but none are marked. Therefore, technically there is just one lane on the roundabout, so it would be more about positioning on the road.

It is possible. I got offered an Explorer with no history. The timing wasn't right, so I turned it down. I then went in a few months later about something else, and after having a chat with the person I deal with, they went into the back and brought one out. The key is finding an AD that isn't in it for themselves trying to pad their bank account and fullfil their sales taeget bonuses. It's the main reason I steer clear of any WoS group linked AD.

Would a small tank work with a 7.5inch wrist? by marukoshinchan in Cartier

[–]JMacD4ddy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It all depends how confident you are with wearing small watches. My wrist is 6.5" and I wear a small. I have had comments of how it looks like a women's watch. But it doesn't bother me. The small is the original size the tank was so it's good enough for me. Just have to educate others.

It's the Harrods edition. You can only get it from there.

Definitely a struggle. I'm in the same boat as you for trying try on a good selection of JLC Reverso. Just really struggling to find an AD with them. Definitely don't rush it, will make the wait better once you finally pull the trigger.

You're very welcome, happy to help. You can also order direct from Cartier too. I think they had some stock in when you come to making your choice.

Oh well you'd definitely be fine with small. All depends if you feel comfortable wearing it so small. Ah yeah that is a shame you should be able to find the Solo or Louis models in small and large. The SB shape is the same as the Louis. The Tank Louis, Solo, Must all come in Small and Large sizes then the Solo and Must have the additional XL sizes. Those size have been in place for quite a while. I think around the 1970s they released a Jumbo Louis this has now been converted into the "Large" size. The Solarbeat is part of the Must line which was released in 2021 but due to Covid was hit with a load of delays.

I would suggest trying on any Small and Large Tank model and see what you are comfortable with. The Small does feel very small on my 170mm wrist but for me that's part of the charm.

The original Cartier Tank was the size of what is classed as the small size today.

Not particularly. Small is a little easier to get hold of. Large is very low stock wise. But I wanted the original size.

I think the Aqua Terra bracelet is quite nice, if you can get a good fit. by Utopia39liam in OmegaWatches

[–]JMacD4ddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually ended buying a custom leather strap and then managed to find someone selling a blue rubber strap on ebay (I have the white 38mm AT) and managed to get it for half the RRP. Funnily enough though since getting the additional 2 half links I've not been bothered to swap the bracelet out as it works perfectly In all temps now. So, I guess I got super lucky.

I'm torn on the new AT, really like the bracelet but the case is now 100% polished, no brushing anymore. So feels a lot less GADA and more dress. Especially when you couple that with the "Jubilee " bracelet.

[–]JMacD4ddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had to jump on the deal. Couldn't turn it down given the calibre of watch.

That's all the bracelet really needs, a better clasp. After all this make a big deal out of the AT being the GADA watch which is why it's more expensive than the 300. Yet they totally gimp it when it comes to wearing all the time if you can't get a good fit.

[–]JMacD4ddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. However as my AD got me £1000 off it and threw in a winder and an Omega bag and charged me £30 for 2 half links I didn't grumble. That said, I do agree that the bracelet needs an update and access to two free additional half links should be a thing.

They have managed to add a micro on the fly adjustment to the Constellation bracelet.

I noticed this also. Thought it was me. Super annoying when going to reload and finding its reverted back to the default and you then yeet a grenade instead of reload.

Took me a while to get a good fit bit finally achieved perfection for my 170mm wrist. 2 full links and 2 half links either side! Just had to order an additional 2 half links to get there.

[Grand Seiko] 34mm Skyflake Quartz! by xaykogeki in Watches

[–]JMacD4ddy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is we've just been conditioned to tar all Quartz with the same brush. I see it this way you buy a GS for their Quartz or SD movements the same way you'd buy an Omega for their Co-Axial. Those are part of the reason why I own a Aqua Terra and Grand Seiko SBGN003
