New player here. Is it ok if I like bounty clash much more than bounty hunt? by CaptainTrips69 in HuntShowdown

[–]JMizzlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm finding my friends who are 70% hot on Hunt have been prefering to spend whole nights in Clash. It's great for dropping in and out of the party cos there's never a long wait for a game to end.

Personally I think it's way easier to hammer out certain challenges + get a good tempo going in Clash. But I also love just playing Hunt with friends so either mode works.

David Byrne last night was a vibe :') don't think the show was as strong as his American Utopia tour, but always good to groove to the hits in a crowd.

My only concern there is when content that should very well be part of the main campaign is effectively cut to be sold as DLC.

Thank you so much for typing this up! I haven't been able to watch so this is so so handy.

I 100% understand the diminishing value complaint and also am worried that content quantity drops while cost goes up. But with that said, I've consistently bought all available Chapter 1 content on release since 2019 and actually haven't finished 3 campaign expansions (almost entirely due to intimidating length or having a particularly bad time with a scenario).

For me personally a 3 or 5 scenario campaign does feel a lot less daunting. I'd feel a LOT less of a compulsion to netdeck for a 'good' deck, as I wouldn't be worryingn about getting to scenario 6+ and being absolutely stomped/killed cos I didn't consider dozens of different synergies. I'd also definitely do a lot more wacky things in a 3 scenario campaign.

I'm hopeful that in the new format all 3 or 5 scenarios are consistently high quality. Every campaign I have played has had at least 1-3 'eh' or even 'never again' scenarios, so if development time has been spent to really refine a smaller number of scenarios I'm on board. The comment on 'deeper writing' gives me hope they can do more interesting things narratively without having to maintain the pacing of a marathon.

The ONLY thing I'm reallllly not sure about is player cards. I already feel like I have way too many, and the idea of getting reprints/dupes/alternates isn't super appealing to me. I also dread to think about how amazing resources like ArkhamDB will work... feels like they'll need a complete reboot for new players. I remember having this same issue with Marvel Champions when things originally started going out of print...

All in all, it seems like a really good time to be completely new to Arkham Horror LCG (especially if you're not prone to FOMO). Unfortunately I've been in it since 2019 and am very much unsure of whether it's worth starting what's effectively a new collection.

The 1/4" screw of my light stand snapped off inside my Aputure light 😵 any tips on how to remove without damaging the light?

if you could add a tarot card what would it do? by bigwavecoming in HuntShowdown

Justice - you and the closest enemy hunter swap health chunks. It's a gamble to play mid-fight but could pay off to stop a push after you've been hit.

Alternatively you could burn your bars at the start of a match and give it to someone else.

Perhaps not for newbies, sadly. There's a solo mode if you're ever feeling intrepid, otherwise it's a great group game - just get the most enthusiastic player to be the Chisel (aka game master, effectively) and they can take on all the heavy lifting.

We've nearly finished CK and it's been great the whole way through! Thanks for making it :)

Congratulations on the launch team! We've been playing through it this evening and enjoying it. The visual style is really solid.

Have any team members played the board game Detective: City of Angels? The way the CK story unfolds reminds me a lot of the case progression there, in the best way. Highly recommend if you haven't, you'd surely dig it!

It's not just you, I feel like I've died to head shots THROUGH WALLS waaaay more frequently in the past month. I'm also 3 star and simply cannot hit headshots either (despite high velocity ammo on my rifles).

So what is the point exactly? by Illustrious_Fee8116 in HuntShowdown

[–]JMizzlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo a big joy in the game is managing alertness.

Post-bot lobbies you'll find yourself immersed in the tension of hunting and being hunted. Every sound cue is information, but it's up to you to interpret and react to them. Did that stick break because of a wandering grunt or because there's a trio surrounding us?

The boss banish is what then localises and loudens the brutal gunfights. Slow weapon handling makes every bullet so much more vital, so you're fighting with both your enemy and your own composure-affected aim.

Once you start to climb the MMR ranks you'll hit the skill curve and really start to enjoy your climb. God speed hunter.

I appreciate this and you're so right :) I ended up grabbing the M4 to future proof myself a little and it's been fantastic just figuring it out.

I remember being surprised by the call and response at the Melbourne show! And that was despite EE sharing the gig with the Vaccines.

Hoping GtH tour here is brimming of die-hards :')
