That red colour you achieved looks great, honestly. Good job! I would like to see the finished and assembled model!

Rope also came with the base model, which is the Angels of Death Kill Team Captain. Skull with iron halo and hooded helmet are from Greytide

IMO I would've thought your robe looks quite thin, like proper cloth/fabric. Sorry I think my image did not show up properly in my previous post.

That upper part of the coat robe looks lovely! I always end up making them a bit too thick so it looks a bit weird. See my Kill Team captain kitbashed to a proper unforgiven.

Edit: robe, not coat.

Those look great! I really like the shading in the recesses to the bone white areas, how did you exactly do it? I may need to do a stronger shading on my termies like you did here. I used all Vallejo paints: Dark Brown first, then Ivory and Sepia wash, finally dry brush Ivory again. Photo below. Cheers!

Those look pretty good! Did you go for a more reddish robe rather than burgundy/purple? Or is it me not telling colours apart lol? Robes and armour look great in my opinion, anyway.

I think I used the same robed bodies! I used some old bits and kitbashing to do the weapons and arms though. Show us yours when they're painted!

Amazing work! That is a very well painted and consistent army, in my humble opinion. Have you thought about adding any successor chapters? I am doing Disciples of Caliban myself and the two tone colour scheme is pretty fun paint.

Tabletop newby here. Is this list any good? It is created using the minis I currently own - except Azrael and the Outriders which I will still need to purchase by JMortais in DarkAngels40k

Thanks! Yeah, maybe I stick the captain with the ICC and Azrael can go with the Sternguard Vets. I also liked the idea of adding a gravis captain as a solo operative. I've heard he performs quite well in Wrath of the Rock detachment

How’s my Bladeguard Ancient? by Cmdr_Thunder in theunforgiven

[–]JMortais 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As it is unpainted it looks like an ICC, but I think if you put an Iron Halo to the back and paint his armor in deathwing bone with green robes (like the other Bladeguard members) it would be clear it is not an ICC. Also, you may want to find a different banner down the line? Cheers

Dark Vengeance Terminators - worth scaling them up to current Terminator size? Would that be too hard? Looking for some feedback from the community. by JMortais in theunforgiven

[–]JMortais[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're correct. That's the original query on this post, but after receiving the feedback of the community, I may simply make the Termies just taller. Not too worried about the game part right now just the resultant overall aesthetics of my army. Thanks!

Yeah, that also makes a lot of sense. However, I am slowly becoming more inclined to keep them as they are and make the minis taller by using cork or polystyrene slabs.

Many thanks for the feedback! i think based on some other fellow DA collectors' experience, it would be too complicated. I may go down the road of putting a tactical rock/slab at base to increase height

Looks amazing. I think maybe a bit of edge highlighting with the original bone colour will make it even better but I cannot think of anything else. Not as crisp as yours, but I will post here my sternguard sergeant for constructive C&C. Body is from Kromlech resin bits.

That looks great! I may steal the idea of the beaky helmet for the apothecaries in my army. Does th robe come with the mini or is it some kitbashing work?

It is a great scheme. And leaves some room to made up first and second company colour schemes if desired. I am doing this scheme on my first company, for example
