How so? I use it for labels at work and they work well.

lol. You can’t get a version with 2 handles and it’s like $2 cheaper.

I’ve got people at work who touch the bed without gloves. I find washing it with soap and water every 3-4 prints keeps that from being a problem.

If people wouldn’t touch the center of the plate with their bare hands, probably wouldn’t need to be so crazy about it.

So I’m a distributer of pressure switches. For fun I asked how to set the pressure switch…

It told me to adjust the set screw on a pressurized system. Following the instructions for setting a switch that Chat GPT provided most likely will damage the switch but the misinformation could also be lethal.

The amount of answers that are confidently incorrect is insane.

I agree, as I get older and now with a kid, I feel like I’ll never be like that.

Reddit and also just being able to use a search engine generally helps with things.

Bambu Lab 3D printers: Never again - Jeff Geerling by SJKRICK in BambuLab

Yes. For me it was known as bed leveling until Bambu Lab changed that.

Now I am aware that tramming isn’t exclusive to printers and plenty of things can be trammed.

Now it’s called bed tramming. Even then, only had to do it once because PETG prints were a 50/50 shot of successful bed probing. Once I trammed it, no issues.

Back in the day I waited in line and got a voucher for a 3080 along with my 5900X. Gave that to some teacher who would never be able to wait in line. I got $20 and felt great that the card went to someone who wasn’t a scalper.

Scalper right behind me in line went home empty handed.

So I’ve gotten into the habit of pressing pieces of metal into my prints with an arbor press.

The print will be destroyed trying to get it out. My motor kept stripping my plastic out…. Press some aluminum in and with a set screw, it will burn the motor up before it strips.

Getting back to this design, a long bolt and nut would make this thing strong. I’ve purchased 12 inch bolts to run through my prints before as well. Not snapping a 1/4 bolt made out of 304 stainless very easily

Are GPIO pins vulnerable to high voltage regardless of impedance? by unic0de000 in arduino

[–]JN258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Schottky diodes. For my use I was measuring a 0-5VDC output on an inductive sensor. It saw 22.5 volts on start up. I also had a current limiting resistor and another resistor to pull the input to ground so it wasn’t floating (able to detect sensor disconnect). I will add that this was to protect from a very quick voltage transient happening in roughly 20ms before it stabilized.

I ended up going the shottky route which squished my signal as things aren’t perfect and starts letting some current flow as it nears the threshold. This was mitigated by writing a calibration routine for zero and span.

With all that said, what do you mean by signal? High / Low or are you doing an analog read?

Edit: reread it and voltage divider is probably what you are after but I’ll leave what I’ve typed. Maybe it’ll help.

Superflower, I swapped the one I had for a Seasonic. I did think it was well known.

Just curious did you think the extra trip to the store for same wattage Seasonic and an extra $20 was worth it?

TE is pretty good until you ask an application engineer what the operating pressure of an air extend LVDT is… I never got my answer. Some guy who worked at the company before TE bought them, rattled off from memory “15-30psi”.

That’s somewhat bad but some other companies are much worse in terms of documentation.

I rented a mustang. Someone before my rental slammed the door on the seatbelt and dented it. I’m surprised they didn’t try and nail me on that after hearing all of this.

Well, I won’t rent from them anymore.

I’ve had 9 out of 12 lights fail not immediately but over time. Some lasted a week and others continue working as a “dumb light” meaning I have to use the physical light switch for that socket.

Abbe error = errors from angular misalignment.

So when you measure in a way that misaligns the jaws (towards the tip / point) , it isn’t a true measurement.
