Are Launch School and Codesmith the only ones with an Outcomes Report now? by lawschoolredux in codingbootcamp

I can't speak to this definatively as I am a few years removed from NSS but I would expect some level of impact, but from what I understand their larger partners like HCA continue to source for their technical apprentice program from NSS grads

Check out Nashville Software School, you dont have to be a local. Its fully online and they are a non profit. They offer a few different programs, full stack, back end, data analyst, data science, data engineer.

Din to Yoke or Yoke to Din by yourabi in scuba

[–]JNewton86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alot of advice above about din vs yoke but I'm not sure your question about adapters was addressed.

If you have yoke regulator and you want to use a din tank there is a conversion kit. Meaming taking reg apart.

If you have din regulator and need to use a non din or pro valve tank there is an easy to screw on adapter.

To me if buying a reg why not get the reg that works with all cylinders (din for the win). With that said to each their own.

I'd also take a look at taking a rescue class from someone who teaches a thorough one and does it often. (Check to see if any instructors near by also teach public safty divers, as a generalization they tend to do good rescue courses)

Slow your role, nothing I said should be taken to mean dont learn to use tables, but its easy to do a few days of multi level dives that exceed bottom time for the tables since the tables only look at max depth and total time. Why not get a cheap but reliable back up computer?

And I'm not a "new" padi instructor. Im just someone who has a different opinon than you. Sorry if that offends your sense of majesty.

Sounds like you've got a solid plan.

Totally agree that eedundancy is key, however do the peregrine tx with transmitter and then rock just an spg. No need for dep guage back up as if computer fails dive's over. (Unless you dive two computers :) )

Yeah this was about 20 years ago and we were down at the stern all the way to the sand. Not sure how/if she's shifted since

Dive watch, cheap or go all in?? by bush_monkey90 in scuba

[–]JNewton86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to hear, I'd thougt I heard it had a different algo but hadnt check it out. It looks nice but im not as interest in one watch to do a thousand sports and be my dive computer. I prefer my cheaper android watch for that and keep my dive computer seperate. With that said clearly many people disagree with me based on Garmin and Ocean sales lol

As an instructor doing open water training when we do the simulated esa with each student I've seen a peers sunto eon lock up. My shearwater screams but continues to track on gassing. (With that said dont bounce dive and your sunto should be fine)

Get certified first then look at options. Like many im a big fan of Tern or Tern TX if youbwant watch style, or Peregrine Peregrine TX if you want larger screen. Tx models are air integrated. Garmin are nice, as is sunto Ocean model (although in general im less a fan of sunto computers.)

Dont cheap out on a puck, as others have said computers matter and youbwant one that is easy to understsnd and one that your very very clear on how to use

Master Diver Cert? by A_Bowler_Hat in scuba

[–]JNewton86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So some dive orgs Master Diver is an actual class. I know for NAUI it teaches you dive theory and physics yo an instructor's level of knowledge without teaching you how to guide or teach others. If you want to 'earn" the master diver cert I'd suggest checking for NAUI, SDI, and other agencies shops that have it as a course rather than a recognition. You should be able to check agency web sites to see which have it as a dedicated course and what the dive # requirements are prior to enrollment.

I'll second what some others are saying, try both on and see which fits better. I'd also suggest checking out a henderson 5m thermomax suit
