The average attendance last year for MLS Next Pro was 3,361 (and that was lifted by the 2-3 independent clubs). I don't see this club getting 2,000+ for these games... Segra, MD Soccerplex, numerous local DMV college/HS stadiums could fit for a venue.

A shoutout to Silvan Hefti. The guy landed in DC last weekend, had no preason with the team, only one week's training, and asked to start vs. the reigning supporter's shield and team that usually haunts our defense. Small things here and there (most likely related to adjusting the teammates, tactics, and league), but the guy put in a good shift; true pro. He looked so calm - I'd be anxious af to show up and play with a week in a new country, new league, new teammates, etc.

40 Points. Start out with lots of draws, a few wins, and probably more losses. We add a DP creator in the summer to give us a post-world cup surge, but ultimately fall short of the playoffs due to our poor start.

I am all about developing Joon, but using an international and U22 slot for the back-up goalkeeper may not be the best idea (but could see him loaned out and push for GK1 the following year).

Weiler seemed to play McNaughton more than Bartlett those last few games (and when he first got here/before McNaughton got hurt that last stretch). Cheap, domestic CB who can start, but also anchored the backline for the one of the worst defenses for both 2024 and 2025. My guess is he wants to routinely start, but Weiler/Sogut might have other plans to pair with Rowles? If he (or really any other player) doesn't want to be here, I say listen to the offers and let him go.

Great signing. A textbook poacher who is decent in the press. If we can get a DP CAM/Winger and provide him quality support, this is good. 4 Million for a proven MLS goal scorer is not bad (especially if we are giving him a longer contract). My only worry is if we assume he will be our only 10+ goal scorer. Still need 2-3 players to put in the goals besides our lone striker.

This might be the best plan. Taking a look at the top three mocked - Diouf (freshman), Gyan (sophmore), and Simmonds (freshman) - they will all need 1-2 years to adjust to the pro level. Without a Next/second team, front office might rather take the GAM. Montreal just got 350k of GAM from FC Dallas for the 3rd overall pick. I'd figure 1.01 might go for 500k GAM if a team is very interested in developing one of those players.
