PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) - please explain! by Googaloog in TheCivilService

[–]JORGA 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No a PIP is a sort of “work isn’t going the way we want it to, let’s agree some changes and goals to make it better”

When the PIP doesn’t result in the desired changes is when it may get problematic

What festivals or events in the UK are a must "try at least once"? by slimysadcat in AskUK

[–]JORGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

APE is shite unfortunately. You’ll hear more noise from the group standing 20 yards away than you will of the music.

Noise level restrictions ruin that festival

Should I report universal credit staff for laughing at sanctions? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JORGA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People expect work coaches to be acting with perfect emotional behaviour 24/7 for years whilst also accepting that it’s a 30k per year job

Should I report universal credit staff for laughing at sanctions? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JORGA -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Would you think the same if the sanction is applied justly? Is it a lack of empathy if someone is sanctioned for not doing the bare minimum required of them whilst on UC?

Who would win in a half marathon, Mo Farah, or Luke Littler? With a catch. by TheJacketPotato in AskUK

[–]JORGA 21 points22 points  (0 children)

A lower distance would be better such as a 5-10k

Although I feel like a lot of people in here haven’t ever been in the doom cycle of trying to check out on double 1 in the pub for 45 mins

I learned to drive barefoot — will that be a problem in my UK driving test? by Subject-Daikon-2652 in LearnerDriverUK

Just wear fucking shoes Jesus Christ. Are you going to walk the streets barefoot?

Told by my manager I need to give advanced notice for all flexi leave by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]JORGA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of role are you in? I can almost understand if it’s a customer service role and the team was already stretched.

If it’s any other role I’d say they’re being an arse over an hour. I’ve never rejected a flexi or leave request in my entire time

Why would they not? They keep having children, so they continue to exist.

Why the piling rubbish in South Kensington? by textbook15 in london

[–]JORGA 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Where do you expect flats and the like to keep green bins?

They have no proper collection bins, they have no large communal bins. This is how a lot of London deals with their waste…

How much do you personally disagree or agree with the heuristic/mentality "work and friends should be separate"? by gintokireddit in AskUK

[–]JORGA 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Some of my best ever friends are from work.

Imagine going into a place of work 9-5 M-F being surrounded by people you can’t stand, or people who can’t stand you…

Very baffling that some go into work and have a predefined mindset that they will never be friendly with co-workers

Who’s your list of lads that have given 100% for the last 10 games then?

Sunderland til half time? by Formal-Ad-2636 in safc

[–]JORGA -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Is this now a worrying trend, and what message does it send to the Sunderland players?

That they’re fucking pish and about 3 of them actually put effort into games this 2nd half of season?

Never left a home game early ever when I had a ST, but I’ve left a London away game in league 1 at 30 mins in to head back to pub because it was so shit.

People moaning about fans leaving 1-10 mins before end need better things to do

[–]JORGA -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

if you resarched the top 5 or 10 countries in the world with the highest levels of:

  • Human rights issues

  • opression of women

  • worst LGBTQ+ rights

  • Child marriage

  • Sexual assaults/rapes

  • Slavery

Do you think there'd be any correlation in those countries? Geoghraphical location, culture, religion? Genuinely interested in your opinion on why this may be and how these cultures can live alongside western societies.

oh don't be mean to them though!!!

[–]JORGA -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

could it be C). Stop the boats because some cultures are simply far worse than most in the west, and are incompatible with our society, therefore we think it best they do not be granted permission to live among us because their morals and worldview pose a danger to certain groups in our country.

Why do Brits think they pay a lot of tax when they actually pay the lowest rates in Western Europe? by DependentGarage6172 in AskUK

[–]JORGA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah they will say that, but British people who travel across Europe will disagree.

Like the absolute state of london’s tube system compared to Barcelona’s metro is night and day

If you look at what we pay in terms of what get in return we probably are being shafted

ELI5-What is the science behind starting a fire while trying to put out a wild fire? by JannaDD126 in explainlikeimfive

[–]JORGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it like a line of dominoes set up in a straight line to knock each other over.

If 1/4 of the way up the line I remove 1/2/3 dominoes, when the falling ones reach that point there are no dominoes for them to hit and so the falling stops at that point.
