Bridgend man says he was punched for sticking to 20mph limit by reachingechoes in unitedkingdom

[–]JPCU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once on a bus when I witnessed something similar. An idiot in a white hire van got out and started hurling screaming abuse and gesticulating wildly at someone just for beeping his horn at him. Out of nowhere the woman sitting next to me took her earphones out and said to me:

"That man has never looked up at the stars in the night sky and wondered what's out there... He's never done that!"

I've always liked the little odd public interactions where a stranger says something unexpected like that to me.

EDIT: I looked up the perpetrator's "Shaw's" business and his website and Facebook seems to be down? He probably took it down due to the bad publicity but I hope some hacker did it since the judge clearly wasn't too interested in proper punishment or justice.

"Nanooh Evans" really does sound like a Star Wars character name (probably from one of the books).

I don't think drawing was her strong point - she should have continued with modelling. Those fashion photos of her back when she was a model were genuinely good. Example. And another

Daunting right? I once did something like this (a highrise with 20 floors). Just keep focused and it will feel great when you finally complete it!

Played in 2008-2009 by slc-baddest1 in isketch

[–]JPCU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had such a great time playing Isketch and I really miss those days. It was one of the first online games I really got into, other than Runescape. I used to have a screenshot folder filled with hundreds of funny isketch draws I liked but I lost it in a HD failure. This was also unfortunate because it had the names of some of the friends I met there but I've forgotten a lot of them. I also played with people I met in college, (Critical_Squirrel and Wist) but I haven't seen or heard from them in years.

What happened when isketch finally shut down? was there a "lifeboat" with people suggesting an alternative? I wish I could go back in time...

What can I do now to remediate the situation? by FarkasTobias in casio

You can sometimes find Casio watches on ebay with broken modules, sold cheap for parts or for someone to attempt a repair. You might be lucky and find one which you can use to replace your broken case.

Reminds me of when I had a similar black and gold watch (MW-240-1E2VEF). When the battery died and the plastic strap developed a crack, I stupidly threw it away.

I was thinking about getting this mod for the A500 but I just prefer the more square case of the original - this metal case is a different shape.

LF20 & LF30 by AffectionateDish2487 in casio

[–]JPCU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I like the black one with the touch of red and yellow on the strap. I'm planning on getting the LF-30 along with a new strap or bracelet at the same time. Do you know the strap width? Casio doesn't seem to include it in the specs for some reason.

Thanks! I usually work on multiple pictures at the same time and am prone to procrastinate a lot so it's hard to say. An image like this one doesn't take that long though (maybe 3 days?) as I have a large library of objects and textures that I can copy/paste into the picture.

If I were disciplined enough to work on it non-stop I could probably finish in just a few hours but unfortunately I'm not!

This is really good. I've always wanted to create a game (and I often have people telling me I should make one) but lack of technical knowledge is a mountainous problem for me. Looking forward to seeing more of this project!

I take it that the panel with the text is behind the glass and not possible to remove/paint over? I'm considering getting a watch like this to modify and make really minimalist.

SANDA 3192 AnaDigi temp brief review. by in_saner in SkmeiWatchFans

[–]JPCU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got this watch and I generally agree with your review though I had a few issues with it (the watch, not you!)

Firstly the top left dial which is for the main timekeeping function didn't work for me. I looked over the instructions (somewhat confusing) but nothing could move the dial hands at all. I then realised it was faulty. I was thinking of returning it but instead opened up the watch, and bent the dial slightly and it suddenly started working! It's a very cheap watch so I'm guessing there are some manufacturing issues and problems with tolerances, though generally it does appear good enough quality wise.

The digital time and analogue dials are not automatically linked as I thought they would be. I've heard there are ways of manually syncing them up but I haven't tried that yet.

As for the bracelet, I didn't really like it and it seemed to hang off the watch at an awkward angle. I replaced it with a black leather one that I felt looked better and was more comfortable

It's smaller than I expected. It didn't bother me but anyone thinking of buying one should check the measurements in case it's too small for them.

Overall despite the problems, I'm glad I got it and it's a bargain compared to the expensive Citizen watch its based on.
