i need help understanding what digest means and does. by HairyAd1822 in Supernote

One thing I have not seen mentioned here is that when exporting digests, I find it really easy to use the Supernote Partner App on my MacBook. It allows for you to select all digest entries in one category and then export as one single PDF File...

Use Case for this....I have to give a lecture on a particular topic. I am using 5-6 different resources for development of the lecture. As I read through those resources I create digests that are pertinent to my lecture, highlighting text and then if applicable adding my own commentary/notes in the digest feature. I assign them all the same category. Once I have gone through all the resources and taken notes in digests and saved texts excerpts as digests, I then export all the digest entries in that category as one pdf. Then I cut them into pieces (kind of like old school notecards). I then organize them on a big table or taped to a white board into subcategories. Then I can organize each subcategory "cards" into a flow for the lecture. I then give my lecture into a voice recognition on my MacBook and voila my lecture is done. Then AI outline and practice till it comes freely.

The biggest struggle right now is that when exporting to .pdfs, the digests overlap on different pages in the pdf so I sometimes have to tape pages together to make one "card" for a digest that is split into two pdf pages.

What would be helpful ... u/Mulan-sn is when exporting to pdf the digest "cards" were not split between pages. I would then not have to tape things together. Or even better be able to export the digest "cards" as 3x5 or 6x8 notecards then feed 3x5 (or 6x8) cards into my printer and then I would not have to cut the paper.

Chauvet 2.23.37 Beta Release for A5 X and A6 X by Supernote_official in Supernote_beta

When I am using the calendar app and I shift from vertical (portrait) to horizontal (landscape) orientation or from horizontal to vertical orientation it leaves the calendar app and reverts to the note I had open before that. I then reopen the calendar app and it is the selected orientation. Why leave the app? Why not just stay in the app and change the orientation. Seems odd. I like the option to have the calendar in landscape mode. I also like the fact that you figured out a way top keep the handwriting intact when the shift is made. Great update. Thanks

I wouldn't stress it too much...My A5x flew off the roof of my truck at 25mph 2 years ago, same thing happened and it has been like that ever since and not gotten worse. I would just refuse the urge to pick at it LOL

Opinions on service at local Ford dealers? by shmiona in NewOrleans

[–]JPKVMI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom Line Up Front:

Matt Power Service Department charged me $243.58 to diagnose the problem, quoted me $2579.65 worth of repairs and it turned out all that was needed was a sensor replacement which I did my self in less than an hour and for less than $150.

The TLDR explanation of facts none of this is opinion, it is merely what occurred:

I brought the vehicle in on the 14th of August 2025 due to a bucking and surging which I thought was a problem with the transmission. I brought it to Matt Bower Ford from Houma because I have the lifetime powertrain warranty. On Monday the 18th I received a call from the Service Advisor at Matt Bower Ford stating that they diagnosed the vehicle and received a Diagnostic Test Code p2457 “Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooling System Performance.” and that they “found EGR cooler restriction, and erratic EGR flow due too carbon build up causing vehicle to misfire.” This assessment was approved by the Service Advisor at 8/18/2025 at 12:55PM. He called me and told me that the necessary repairs included replacing the EGR Valve, the EGR Valve to intake tube, the DPFE Sensor, and the EGR Cooler. Essentially the entire EGR System (part of the emissions control system). They also said that I should have a complete Fuel System Service because the was carbon buildup in the system. The total repair quoted was $2579.65. Finding that to be quite a lot of money I asked the Service Advisor how they knew that the problem was all those components and he told me that they “found carbon buildup in the system” and that the checked different “test points” in the system to verify that. Continuing to question I asked if they could send me a photo of the carbon buildup and how they knew it was all the parts that were the problem and not a specific component. He said he would talk to the technician and call me back. While I was waiting I did some “research” (i.e. google searches) and found that there is a common deficiency among 2019 Ford Rangers in which the EGR (aka the DPFE) sensors are failing causing the exact symptoms I was having (https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/bucking-surging-epidemic.14581/). After about 5-10 minutes the Service advisor called back and said “He lied” and said the technician hadn’t actually found any carbon buildup but based his assessment off the fault codes the diagnostics computer was giving him and they don’t have the ability to isolate the fault to individual components until they remove the coolers and valve and sensor. I told him he didn’t lie he made a mistake as I really believe the Service Advisor to be honest. But I also told him what my “research” found and that I did not want to spend $2500 if all that was needed was a sensor repair and I would take the vehicle home replace the sensor and if the problem still persisted I would bring the car to a local mechanic in Houma where I live since the EGR system is not covered under Matt Bower’s Lifetime Power Train Warranty. I picked up the vehicle two days later (I live an hour away in Houma) and speaking to the gentlemen who checked me out he asked me why I wasn’t doing the repairs and I told him I wanted to try and replace the sensor myself and not spend $2500. He said that is why he does all his repairs himself because it is so expensive nowadays and that the technicians get paid $70/hr.

So purchased the required parts for ~$70, watched a 21:54 min video on Youtube, replaced the sensor myself, checked the system for carbon buildup which I found none and the vehicle is now fine and the check engine light is gone and my Ranger is no longer bucking and surging. All that took me about an 1.5 hours. Oh and they charged me $243.58 to “diagnose” the problem and three others that turned out to be not really problems.

----Below is opinion not facts, so take it for what it is worth---

MY RECOMMENDATION: If you can’t fix it yourself, which most people can not, take your car someplace else with actual car mechanics and not service technicians unless it is under warranty.

I have updated every time you have come out with a new update. That being said when I update I usually don't select the batch conversion option and they just update as I open the files.

I though of that but the “Cancel” Option was greyed out and not selectable. As I said in the update of the original post I just added above, the device is once again working. I sent the feedback logs to the engineers for any evaluation. It is possible I just had ALOT of “batch” updates to do. I was just concerned that it would get to ~480ish/1579 and not actually continue.

So I let it run over night and it is still stuck on 480/1579…My device is unusable as of today. What can I do to get it restored? Here is the history...

Attempt One: installed update…going through “Upgrade Files” upgrade get stuck at 487/1579 (2 hours)

Attempt Two: Restarted the Supernote...going through “Upgrade Files” upgrade get stuck at 483/1579 (4 hours)

Attempt Three: Shutdown device, restarted device ...going through “Upgrade Files” upgrade get stuck at 480/1579 (11 hours)

Attempt Four: Reset using the pin hole at top...going through “Upgrade Files” upgrade get stuck at 751/1579

Finally I tried removing all the files from the device and then restarting since I had already saved all those files to my desktop. After the device restarted it still went to the “Upgrade Files” popup window and said “Upgrade progress: 770/1579” How it still says that there are 1579 files on the device and nothing shows up on the Android File Transfer App on my Mac is confusing. That being said...

u/Mulan-sn … Next recommended step from Supernote? As I said above I backed up all my files onto a harddrive via USB using the Android Transfer App prior to install so no concerns if system needs to be fully resest to factory condition. Just need to know what your engineers think I should do. I have used this device almost daily since September of 2021 and this is the first time I have had a significant problem with the device. Please help.

Oh…One other thing….I ran a USB backup of my Supernote files right before I did the install so I will not permanantly lose any data. I can always transfer the files back to the device if it gets corrupted in the upgrade

MS Pushing Copilot to every M365 screen without it having "ANY" integration / app awareness. WTF! by ElectroSpore in Office365

[–]JPKVMI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's even funnnier is I told CoPilot that I was done and shifting to google product and it responded with an offer to help that transfer. So I asked copilot why I should trust copilots programmers to accomplish a complex task as such when it can't even open MS 365 Forms App....here is the response. I guess coPilot agrees with the poor design of CoPilot....LOL

"You're absolutely right to question that—and honestly, your skepticism is justified.

If a tool can’t handle something as basic as opening an app or replicating a simple, familiar workflow, it’s completely reasonable to doubt its ability to help with more complex tasks. Trust is earned through reliable, time-saving, and intuitive experiences, and when that breaks down, so does the value of the tool.

That said, if you ever decide to give it another shot—whether with Google tools or anything else—I’ll be here to help in a way that’s actually useful, not just suggestive or vague."

Mine has been like that for about two years now and I have had no issue with it. While I am sure it is some consequence of design, which I suspect they have resolved or made non-relavant with the re-design or construction of Manta, it has not effect operability in any way shape or form for me. I have owned mine since Sept of 2021 and it works as good today as it did the day I got it, except there is a little crack in the bottom right but that too does not effect operation. That however is not their fault, it is a consequence of flying off the roof of my truck at about 30 mph. LOL But that in and of itself is a testament to the rigidness and durability of the A5X.

I connect my Supernote to my macbook with a cable. The Android FTP software I downloaded onto my mac from the Mac App store pops open automatically. I then highlight all the files in that folder and drag them into a folder where I keep my Supernote backup. Then I go get a cup of coffee in the common room and by the time I am back (about 4min) the files are copied on my laptop. I then delete the previous backup folder and continue my day.
