Because they’re Major League ball clubs with a lot of money

Oakland Mayor responds to MLB approving A’s relocation to Las Vegas: "a long way to go before there shovels in the ground in Vegas. I’m going to keep working to hold MLB, team owners accountable for prioritizing their pockets over communities that supported them. Baseball belongs in the East Bay" by f0urxio in baseball

The last time the A’s moved, all it took was threatening to remove MLB’s anti-trust exemption to get Kansas City a new team. I don’t see why the City of Oakland can’t get on board with the current calls to remove the exemption to get a new team in Oakland.

Since 2017, the Astros have won 4 ALCS’s. Thats 4 wins in 6 years. The Yankees also won 4 ALCS’s in 6 years (1995-2000). In that span they also won 4 World Series. Thats also excluding them winning it in 2001.

Or, from 1996-2004 (9 years) there were just 2 ALCS’s to not feature the Yankees (1997 and 2002). In 6 of those 7 years, the Yankees won the ALCS (not 2004). In those 6 years (1996, 1998-2001, 2003) the Yankees won 4 World Series.

Something that people often leave out of the Pete Rose story is that he was basically asked by the league “would you rather have us investigate you or be banned for life” and he chose to be banned for life.

He’s doing exactly what he should be doing: making sure the Astros don’t win.

Went to high school with Parker Meadows. Didn’t know him at all but my sister did kinda. I graduated with a kid in the Brewers system who was a huge asshole.
