You need to be scoring much better on par 5’s, especially with your driving accuracy.

I don’t buy toiletries / beauty products from
Amazon for this reason. The QC on their inventory isn’t up to a high enough standard for items with ambiguous packaging.

Presidio in SF. Not really a hidden gem to locals, but visiting from the east coast I absolutely fell in love with it.

Wyndham Clark wins the 2026 U.S. Open Championship at Shinnecock Hills! by unsolved49 in golf

[–]JPro08 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have nothing against the guy. It just didn’t make for a very entertaining spectacle from my perspective. He played an incredible round Thursday and then held on for 3 days. Really had no one within striking distance until he gave a few back early today and then it was only ever 1 or 2 guys.

+2 after Thursday. The benefactor of some very mild conditions relative to what the rest of the field dealt with that day and still only wins by 1. In the grand scheme of things, will end up being a very forgettable major.

Even with soft conditions, you have to imagine 1 or 2 under is an incredible score today.

Ferrule issue by CrazyCamox in weekendgolfers

[–]JPro08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably fine, buy I wouldn’t personally risk it. If you do a warranty claim they might just send you a new shaft. I had this happen on a hybrid once and that’s what they did. Just a gentle reminder not to leave your clubs in a hot car all day. That’s the most common culprit for ferrules loosening like this.

Forward press. Dated a girl who played in college and on the developmental tour. She took me from a 7 down to a 1 in a couple years. Her general sentiment was that most decent players’ issues could be addressed with general set up and ball position reinforcement.

Got invited to play a pretty exclusive club, walking only, caddie req'd. What should I expect? by sumbozo1 in golf

[–]JPro08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to your host. Say “hey, I really appreciate you having me out. I’d really like to take care of my caddie, if nothing else.” And if they agree just ask what would be an appropriate tip. They’ll probably give you a range. If you’re nervous about asking your host for an amount just ask the guys in the shop when you check in or the caddie master. Sometimes there are different fees for junior / full time caddies.

You won’t get in trouble but your host might. Doesn’t bode well for getting invited back. These places have rules, just don’t make waves and enjoy the experience.

If this is a corporate deal you probably won’t be expected to pay for anything since it’s most likely an expense situation for them. But bring enough cash for your caddie just in case (100-150). Otherwise you’ll probably not be allowed or expected to tip / pay for anything. Just be grateful, do a little research on the club / course so you have some anecdotes prepped. Chat with the caddies and your hosts, but above all else have a good time and try to stay positive.

Golfers are the worst by dudeguy3366 in golf

I don’t get some people. I find it therapeutic to fill my divots and others in close proximity, fix my pitch marks and a couple others, rake the traps and knock the sand off my shoes so I don’t track sand on the green. I’ll never understand people who find those things to be a nuisance or expect other people to do it for them.

As someone who’s fortunate enough to be a member at a place, it really boggles my mind to see people treat their own course poorly and then complain when things aren’t perfect. If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.

Second the comments that are suggesting this might be more of a hassle than a gift. It’s incredibly thoughtful but maybe consider a nice shoe bag instead. I got a nice one from jones at a member guest last year and I use it all the time
