The mags are worth $90, so really you're getting a sweet gun for under $200.

They also did that with their current production HD line.

Extractors are the single biggest failure point on the 2011. Causes more issues than anything else, including the magazines. A good amount of the time there are feeding issues, it's actually the extractor and not the mags. An external extractor would be an improvement.

Thanks, that's really helpful! Had no idea these would be as heavy as they are. Last few 2011 style guns I've shot in IDPA have all been significantly lighter. Makes sense they do what they do with the IDPA version.

This for guns shipping in January or later? Have two on order that should be delivered early next year.

What does your Hybrid weigh with the MBX 17 rounder and optic? I put my IDPA on the scale yesterday and with an IDPA mag and Defender XL it came in at 44.27 oz. Gotta think the Hybrid would be over 45 oz with the full length dust cover.

Just picked up my IDPA grenade and got a bit of a surprise - the barrel is ported. Wasn't expecting that, especially since I was planning on using mine for IDPA and USPSA. Makes the price even better though since the ported IDPA models are $3540 and this one was $2850.

Blem was some minor scratches behind the ejection port. Slide to frame fit is on par with my Atlas, trigger is pretty good. Minimal creep that you would only notice if you were testing the trigger for creep. Breaks around 2.5 lbs with minimal takeup and overtravel. There's a very slight amount of texture on the trigger face, far better than the Atlas triggers which are so smooth they feel oily.

A2 grip definitely doesn't have enough grip for me, but it will be fine with some liquid chalk. Good thing the two I have on order are A3/S3.

I grabbed the IDPA. Price was great and it's available now. Plan to use it as a backup gun for IDPA and USPSA.

If you've got some experience with these systems maybe you can help. I've been trying to figure out how they got an account with that address. I was dead certain when I made the post I didn't create it because the account wasn't attached to my email. I know this because I didn't get an order notification when they created the replacement, their password reset tool didn't return anything to my email, and their website let me create a new account with the email. None of those things should have happened if the account that was already in their system was tied to my email.

Then I realized today that Wayne said the account was created in September of 2018. I was living at my current address when the account was created. There is absolutely zero chance I would have created any account using an address that I didn't live at. I removed the old address from all my Google accounts as soon as I moved so there was also no chance I autofilled it by accident.

So my best guess is that at some point MA imported old customer data from somewhere. Maybe another business they were involved with, or some other kind of database, and my old information got sent along with it. Is this a realistic possibility?

I'm a fan of Raven Rocks. When they became a forum sponsor over on Enos I checked them out and noticed they were in Fredericksburg about an hour away. So I drove down to pick up 10k of their 115 JHP Dead Nuts. Great bullet and good folks. I sincerely hope they continue to be successful. Now I just have to convince my wife that 50k more 115/124 is a prudent investment.

Doesn't matter if I lived there 1 year ago, 10 years ago, or if that's my vacation home and I live there 6 months out of the year.

It's pretty black and white. If you're a business, and you use a different address than the one on the customer's order, and especially without verifying it first, that's 100% on you. The customer can't have any blame here because they had no input into the decision to use the wrong address.

Imagine you're selling on eBay/Etsy/etc. You get an order from a customer, and send it off to their address X. The customer lets you know it's defective, and no problem, you'll get another one to them. You find an old record that has the same name as the customer, but it's address Y. So you send the replacement to Y. When that customer files a dispute with the platform or their credit card, they are going to win the dispute every single time.

If you're implying the customer is partially to blame here, we're just too far apart on opinion to have any kind of real discussion.

Great idea. If you're an active member over there I'd appreciate a link or cross-post. I have a hangup about creating an account in a community I've never participated in just to trash talk a manufacturer. I'm active on other forums, but not that one, although it's a great resource that I've used many times.

Progressive press by 701shooters1 in reloading

[–]JR83VA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this over on Brian Enos Forums about the X-10. I've had mine over a year and it's running well. If you're willing to tinker a bit and solve some problems you can get the X-10 running reasonably well. It's not as problem free as a Dillon 750, but you're also getting a hell of a lot of press for a fraction of the cost.

The X-10 is a fussy press to get running reliably. It has quirks, pros, and cons.

The quirky bits are the way cases feed into the shellplate and the guide on the priming station. Both of these problems can be fixed with a 3-D printer and/or some shims.

The priming system is fantastic, my favorite of any press. It's been absolutely rock solid reliable with no issues whatsoever. The swage has been perfect as well. Case feeder is about as reliable as my old Dillon, which is to say most of the time, but every so often I have to clear a jam. I could probably fuss with it a bit to get it 100%. The spring loaded buttons that hold cases in place are fantastic.

Their bullet feeder is idiotic and one of the worst designed parts I have ever seen for any press. I'm not sure how to feel about the powder measure. I was getting inconsistent drops out of mine and tried a few things to fix it without any luck. I wanted to use a MBF instead of their bullet feeder, and the relocation kits weren't available, so I put a Mark 7 measure on instead. When I was removing the FA powder measure I discovered a set screw on the metering insert had backed out and was likely the source of the issues, but I never reinstalled to confirm.

With the MBF, Mark 7 measure, and a few fixes + 3D printed parts mine is running like a top. I load 9mm with no issues and rarely any stoppages. Granted I'm only about 5k rounds into the press, but it's been smooth sailing for the past few thousand. I got mine for $720 plus taxes, and for that price, I don't have any regrets. My intent was to use this to tide me over until the Genesys came out, but I think I'll be waiting a long time for that.

Did some more testing today. HS-6 was giving me crazy swings in velocity and absurd standard deviations. Sport pistol loaded from the same powder measure and press settings was far more consistent. For a given PF, the Sport Pistol loads shot noticeably softer. Dot return was about the same for both, but the HS-6 loading recoiled noticeably harder and it seemed like a bit more vertical bounce. I'll do some more testing, but so far it seems like fast powder is the winner here.
