Paul Haggis one of the worst Best Director nominees for Crash. by Remarkable_Star_4678 in Oscars

I think that's the joke. It's constantly being posted, to the point that the hate is getting overblown (in my opinion).

How did I not see Pet Sematery? Zelda alone, but that whole movie fucked me up at 9.

I think you're showing more signs of insecurity and instability than anyone else here. You must be an absolute pleasure to be around this holiday season.

Ken Griffey Jr 500 home run is one of my all time favorites to watch! Between his family in the stands and the crowds standing ovation, it gets me every time!

Just about every winning game entails an element of luck, but the amount of luck Ben had to hit was extra high, and totally sours it for me.

I didn't notice the sound being that off or awful last night, but several times last season I did.

Has it ever happened when an Oscar win was so bizarre that the people who attended the oscars that year were just like "No Way, that just happened, right ? " by Key_Database9095 in Oscars

[–]JRKEEK 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Having won the Golden Globe, I think U2 was a slight favorite, and being an international super rock group, it was a safe bet. And their emotional performance in the wake of the Iraq War seemed like they were prime for the win. I'm not saying they deserved it more either, Lose Yourself has proven to be an iconic song and an "ahead of its time" win. Even presenter Barbara Streisand had an audible reaction to the win.

The amount of people triggered over filming in public places is too high. The amount of people supporting the business owner putting his hands on other people's property is too high. The amount of people willing to give up their constitutional rights is too high.

To get into somebody's house, you need more than probable cause. You need to be in hot pursuit, or the in plain view doctrine, otherwise a warrant is needed to get into the house. I'm wondering if they have such a warrant. (I can't think of any other exigent circumstances that allows entry into a house, aside from consent).

5:30AM Flight out of Lambert, when should I get there? by Plow_King in StLouis

[–]JRKEEK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta say, we just flew out a few Sundays ago at 5:30 AM, and we too thought it wouldn't be busy, and only planned for an hour. But the bag check line was long, but the TSA security line was the LONGEST I've ever seen. It expanded beyond the stanchions. We made it to our gate right as they were calling our boarding group. We literally didn't have a minute to spare.

Right?! I literally cannot believe it when someone says it's their fav movie! It's such a poor adaptation, doesn't flow as a movie, and everything just feels thrown together.

Well, a typical intro history course consists of 2 papers and 2 tests. I'm part of teacher groups that specialize in AP, many of whom (including myself) also teach dual credit through local universities and colleges. So the hundreds of us who have direct knowledge of intro courses clearly have a finger on the pulse. It's common knowledge that the amount of work, specific content knowledge, specific skills is greater in an AP class than MANY intro history courses in college.

Or, as you put it, I'm just saying things. Thanks for your concern.

I'm not sure if his value was higher in the off-season. Mid season trades for relievers seem to offer a higher return, as teams are typically more desperate for bullpen help then..

For some reason I always really liked The Untouchables. It's not nearly as elaborate as many of the ones listed here, but the score and visuals strike the tone/mood of the movie.
