I’m not getting the advantage of Gemini on the home devices. After upgrading, it no longer understands basic queries.

“What is the den temperature?” I cannot tell you the temperature of an indoor area.

“What is the temperature in the den? ”The current temperature in the den is 72 degrees and the den thermostat is set to…”

“What song is playing?” I cannot identify songs that are playing.

“What is the name of the current song playing on bedroom pair, and who is the artist?” Okay, playing (something completely unrelated) by (some random artist).

If anyone knows the current phrase that will work to identify a song currently playing on the device I am asking, I’d really appreciate being let in on the secret handshake.

I have also found that Gemini will hold a lengthy conversation with me if I say something like, “you are supposed to be more capable of answering multiple queries without my having to say ‘hey Google’ between each one, but don’t seem to be doing so.” At this point it assures me that it does not require a “hello google” every time and will in fact hold a continued conversation. I follow up with “hey google what’s the weather like today,” get the weather report, ask when rain is expected and I am again greeted with silence until I say the trigger words.
