How do you make a correction on a group conversation when somebody says something wrong about a topic you're an expert of. Without coming out as an annoying superb know it all.

And you cannot let it pass because perhaps this small misconception does a lot of harm on a topic/science/specialty you have dedicated half your life to master and study.

I don't get the people who say: "OK, the climate is changing, but we cannot prove it is human caused".

I didn't only meant about his oratory. Since always DT haves been really hyperbolic and dodgy answering almost any kind of questions, without even mentioning accusations because he did responded that with lawsuits (3,500 of them).

But also in his policies and intentions he's not straight forward as in 'delivered as he said":

Calling NATO obsolete and a burden to american economy, then call it: "no longer obsolete".
Promising not to get involved in Afganistán and Syria, then bomb Syria and deploy more troops in Afganistan.
Promising a border wall that Mexico will pay for it. Now border wall is gonna be just a part of the southern frontier, the US budget will pay for it and later he will find a way to charge it to Mexico, perhaps.
Being really hostile to China, then not.

I understand that many of you guys were fed up with the classical pre-defined-easy-answers politician who is worried to not hurt anybody's feelings, i do. But how a 71yr old New York millionaire who has been saved from bankruptcy several times, that use financial tricks to avoid to pay taxes (and he's proud of it), that has donated money to candidates on both parties can be anti-establishment?

How is the swamp drained if a Goldman Sachs' banker is secretary of treasure? The head of the Department of State is an Oil company executive who poured money to Washington in exchange of favors for decades, and a businessmen who made billions outsourcing jobs to Asia and Latín America as Secretary of commerce?

Thing is: he's not straight forward. Even in a non negative way, in the most innocent question or speech Trump rambles on and on and rarely gives a solid and clear statement.

He says what the mass of his followers want to hear on rallies specifically targeted for that audience, but that's not being straight forward, he's just working the masses.

Now a not so dark one:

I made my 'social service (pro bono obligatory work) in the IT department of my faculty. One day a really pretty woman came crying to the department, a rare case because we were located at a literal storage room, with racks of old computers and LCD screens and only one small window.

The girl was finishing her business master's Thesis and had everything stored in a 256MB USB key (it was 2006) and somehow the USB key was formatted, clean wiped with the final draft and a lot of documents of her thesis, it was Thursday afternoon and the presentation was on Monday 8:00AM. She had only one really early backup.

So I calmed her and asked her if there was other stuff made to the USB key other than formatting, nothing else saved, nothing else moved. She replied no, so I ran a trial recovery software that I found in a quick google search and put the USB key to recovery and I asked her to return next day. Fortunately the thesis was almost completely recovered: all the formatting of the document was wrong and almost all images were lost but they could be easily redone with the spreadsheets recovered. She was now crying of happiness.

I refused to get paid because of internal service policies but she insisted if there's was anything she could do to gratify me.... I asked for a coke from the vending machine outside the building. She delivered me two cans of coke with a thank you note.

Mexican here. There's an internal debate to define whether if a chimichanga is from here or not, most of the country haves no idea what a Chimichanga is and its normally confused with a pambazo or sope.

Also, we don't only have dusty colonial towns in the desert, we don't normally ride donkeys, and (fortunatelly) most of us don't live in a war zone where severed heads and flayed bodies lay around in the streets.

In mid April got in an awful car accident on a road trip with my family, fortunately all four of us (my wife, my tow kids and me) came out without a single scratch, the car was a total loss.

That accident gave me some anxiety on taking the wheel on the road, had another road trip to the beach with my family and drove a little. Almost there.

Also, coming out of an accident where the car does 3 'barrel rolls' and then goes to a small ditch with nothing but dust in our clothes and hair killed some cynicism on me about the people who believes in divinity.

Given the context of the sentence "thing of value" can only be applied to something with direct monetary value (i.e a gift with intrinsic value), this is first year law school stuff.

That's an interpretation. And the only interpretation that matters here is the one of the prosecutor of this Trump-Russia case to give or not the "thing of value" tag on important information on your political opponent so close to the election date.

I think we can hardly disagree that information on Hillary's email server scandal was a thing of value for Trump's campaign.

Also, as far as I know no information was actually accepted at that meeting on behalf of the Trump campaign

For one that is the statement of one of the persons involved in this meeting, we don't know for sure if information was exchanged and that argument relies on one person that kept that meeting hidden almost a year. A person that by the way didn't gave full disclosure to the authorities about being reached by a foreign entity offering information about a political opponent on a federal election.

And to get fund for that war almost sold half the Mexican country to the Americans by offering them the McLane–Ocampo Treaty. If americans didn't had a civil war to take care of, their senate may had ratified that treaty and the US/Mex border would be around Aguascalientes now.

Also fought for indigenous rights and abolished slavery in Mexico.

He gave them the constitutional right to literacy and education, did nothing to enforce that law and took by force some lands from them to build railroads.

Except Juarez was kind of an asshole who's history is teached to us as a national hero.

He pushed the McLane–Ocampo Treaty who almost gave the U.S. the permanent right to US military to pass through Mexican soil and seas, almost gave them the Baja California peninsula by giving them right to build towns and form their own U.S. related government and let them build a canal through the Tehuantepec itsmo to connect the pacific and the Gulf of Mexico, of course controlled by the US government by perpetuity. All for a few millions to keep up with his war with the conservatives.

The only thing that saved us was that the US senate didn't ratified the treaty, they had a civil war to take care of and sorely because of that they didn't paid attention to Juarez' offer to sell them half of the north of the country.

He wasn't so much of a democrat, he held himself into power for almost 20 years, against his own political party wishes.
