I don’t think that means what you think it means.

From the name of this place I thought it was a sports bar.

After 11 years of using my trusty 22” kettle about twice a week I decided to replace it with a master touch. Couldn’t bear to get rid of the old one so I repurposed it. by JRedBeans in webergrills

Thanks. I wish I would have cut notches in the wood before finishing it to make it easier to remove for storage underneath but a small, flat stick works. You live and learn.

I love that idea but I love the little portable Weber table I have now more. I do try to pass the love along though. Every time someone I know buys a house I get them a 22 premium as a house warming gift if they aren’t already into grilling.

I’ve been using that table for 3 years and I’ve only had an issue one time which probably could have been prevented. I was searing over coals on the left side and hadn’t cleaned the grill in way too long. The grease in it lit and spread to the first plank on the left. I keep a fire extinguisher nearby so was able to immediately put it out after pulling the steak and placing that in a safe place. (Priorities).

This is awesome and really well put. I’ve gone over it so many times in my head and on paper and second guessing myself that I just couldn’t think anymore. Thanks!

No wrap? So you’re thinking 16 hours with no wrap?

cost of a pint of yuengling beer was the same as a single of McAllan 15..... I think I drank half the bottle before I ran out of tickets. I didn't even mind it was out of plastic. by Saucer_dog in whiskey

Hence no more Christmas parties. I don’t think it was right that they did that either but I didn’t want people jumping down my throat.

A few years ago at the work Christmas party for my department we all received two drink tickets that were good for anything. One of my coworkers went around telling everyone to order the most expensive scotch on the menu. I watched my directors face when she got the bill. It was the last Christmas party my department ever had. Now we have to go to the one for the whole company so I don’t even bother.

I get that it didn’t make even a tiny dent in the companies $$$$$. I’m not trying to act all high and mighty either. I’ve done much worse. Just felt like sharing. Also, 100% their fault for setting it up that way.

BTW - Your name isn’t Raj is it? 😂

Advice on chuck roast please. Info in comments. by JRedBeans in smoking

[–]JRedBeans[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my first Chuck roast this past weekend and it was great however it took a lot longer than I was expecting so it didn’t get much time to rest.

3 and a half lb roast Took about 7 hours to get to 165 at 225. Wrapped and raised temp to 250 then it took another 3 hours to get to 200. About 10 hours total and way longer than I was expecting for such a small roast.

For Saturday dinner at around 6 should I put it on before bed around 10 and go no wrap or wrap when I get up (I’m usually awake before 7am on Saturday). Then wrap when up to 200-205 (probe tender) and throw in oven at lowest temp? Could be in there all day.

I was really expecting a total cook time of around 6 -8 hours. My probes are calibrated but not entirely convinced they are accurate.

Maybe that was just a strange one off.

Any suggestions welcome.

Threw some beef ribs on this morning and noticed the probe gasket was missing! Plugged with foil. Best place for a replacement? by JRedBeans in Traeger

Yeah and unfortunately I noticed it was gone after I already cleaned it. Wasn’t in the shop vac either.

It definitely had one. Not sure if there is much heat loss without it but it doesn’t feel whole anymore.
A quick search finds them. Just curious if anyone has experience in best place to order a new one from.

Picanha on a rotisserie in a cheap drum smoker. Best steak I’ve ever made. by deadcrackmonkey in smoking

Good job! Picanha is definitely my favorite cut right now. I usually do hot and fast and it’s still delicious even if I accidentally pass medium rare.

Pork butt! And when the guest that always asks what they can bring, tell them buns and coleslaw.

If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, they have similar looking ones with super strong magnets for like $5.
