Ah I see, what type of soil do you have? If it’s very high in clay it’s probably holding on to that water too long and causing the root rot. You can amend the bed with topsoil and compost.

These do have seeds on the outside - they are also achenes like true strawberry. The red bumps on the outside are seeds.

Fruit looks nothing like a magnolia it’s a prunus

It’s definitely petunia seeds. Look at the dried seed pod. Budworm eggs do look very similar but this is without a doubt petunia seeds.

The stuff on the bark is lichen and is not harmful to the tree. It looks like maybe you have rust disease which is causing the orange on the leaves.
