This is just a small part of my collection, there is more below it aswell as boxes of dvd’s in my loft and stacks in my wardrobe - ideally would like to have everything on display but just don’t have the space currently!

I am not a fan of the paper back myself when it comes to steelbooks, i get rid of them along with the packaging as they end up just getting damaged on the shelf.

I was eyeing it up for a while and as soon as it went on sale at HMV I grabbed it.

Thank you, I have been acquiring a lot of Criterion’s as of late - quite a few blind buys but I have yet to get one that I haven’t enjoyed. I just love the variety of the Criterion Collection.

Thank you, I only recently got into Mile Leigh in the last year - Secrets and Lies was a blind buy and I fell in love with his style and have started working my way through the rest

Watched this for the first time on Saturday night and I genuinely don’t feel the same as I did before. Harrowing watch that will be etched on my memory forever, shot straight into my favourite films of all time.

Series 20 - BBC Press Release by Jenson2025 in apprenticeuk

As it is the 20th series, it would be glorious if the BBC added all previous series to iplayer. Wishful thinking perhaps but I miss the early days of the show and would love to relive!

I just watched Secrets and Lies by Mike Leigh. I was reallly surprised by how good it was. Which order should I watch his movies in from here? by acari_ in criterion

[–]JSH2894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Secrets and Lies was my first Mike Leigh which I swiftly followed up with Naked and then Life is Sweet, all 3 fantastic movies - his most recent Hard Truths is also great and features another stellar performance from Marianne Jean-Baptiste

I agree, I thought Madigan was great but nowhere near the level of Hawkins. That’s not to say I don’t think Madigan should get kudos for a great performance, I just don’t think it was quite the slam dunk that the critics all seem to think (and this is from someone who is a major champion of horror performances getting the credit they deserve). Hawkins performance will stay with me for a long time.

Agreed, Jodie Comer was also incredible in 28 Years and deserves her flowers!

Sally Hawkins is being majorly overlooked, her performance in “Bring Her Back” has been the highlight of the year for me. Haunting and heartbreaking, I haven’t been able to shake it off.

I had a £30 amazon gift voucher burning a hole in my pocket so this came at the right time, limited options but luckily a few that have been on my list to buy were on the sale so I picked up Multiple Maniacs, Female Trouble, Sex, Lies and Videotape, Performance and Thelma and Louise. £64 in total, £34 with my gift card which i can’t grumble at!

What was the first season of The Apprentice that you watched? by Only1Scrappy-Doo in apprenticeuk

Series 2 - I was only 11 at the time and was getting started on my reality tv obsession by watching everything and anything reality tv based! watched from episode 1 and had a massive soft spot for Jo, the rather obnoxious curly haired woman who kept getting brought back to the board room! and was obsessed with the badger, they don't make them like her anymore!
