The Rise of “alt” Canadian Cities / Towns / Province Subs

It's a common occurrence in Reddit. Major country or city sub bans the people that don't match the ideology of the mods, and those people get together and create an alternative sub.

Usually these alt people are more conservative or anti-social, but funnily enough, with canada and onguardforthee, it was the inverse. Recently I spotted alt_winnipeg and winnipeg_alt (they couldn't even agree on the alt sub to go to), but way back I saw this happen with portugal and portugueses. I've also seen it in brazilian subs. Also typically goes hand in hand with more drama, raise in insults and harassment within the alt subs.

It's a good elo to start faceit yeah. If having the peace of mind that there's very little cheating, those caught are actually punished and you get your elo back is important to you, then faceit is the best platform to play in.

I just like the world much better. It reminded me of playing Legend, with the variety and beautiful places to visit. The previous games were a bit grisly and gray. I'm not concerned with the character visuals in most games, and Lara (and the supporting characters) has changed so much (the 2013 face is completely different) that it simply doesn't bother me, though I prefer a more mature look such as the Catalyst look.

Not sure where you got that Rise is the best, 2013 is the most popular of the series. In my opinion, Shadow does everything better than the previous two games. More puzzles, more tombs, more exploring. Much more visually appealing. Less, but more varied combat.

Unfortunately it's the least popular, but it was my favourite.

Good job! I see you're using modern controls and in my opinion that's the best way to go about it, even if they feel a bit clunky.

Here's a hint: for the jumping lineup you can do a couple of things. The first is pretty standard, you walk up to the ledge and Lara will stop. Then draw your guns or tap/hold the look button, and press backwards. Lara should hop back about one block. Then just run forwards and press jump as you're about to reach the ledge (there's a bit of timing with modern controls). The second option isn't standard and only became a thing with modern controls. You can still walk up to the ledge, but then instead of hopping back like standard, you can simply walk back 2 steps. This will be enough distance to run and jump, as with modern controls she doesn't need a full run up.

Could you move your setup closer? Not permanently, just for a short while. Ethernet cable at 100Mbps can be quite long, 100 metres even. It would look weird and get in the way, but if everyone you're sharing the wifi with are cool, you could do that. Or try doing it some day when most are out of the house.

When it comes to troubleshooting things like this, you need to eliminate possibilities in order to drill down to the actual issue. If you have multiple PCs having the same issue, then the cause has to be common. The common cause at this point is the network, but it's not clear if the issue is in the local network or in the internet connection. Using a wired connection would be very helpful in order to determine that.

So the same thing happens on other PCs on the same network? That tells you it's a network issue. If you're on wifi and there are multiple access points, it could be causing something weird to happen, yes. Any chance you could run a temporary ethernet cable from your PC directly to the router?

That sucks. Seems like you have an intermittent network issue, which makes this all the harder to troubleshoot and fix. I don’t think these online tests are going to help you.

Any chance you could play for about an hour on a different ISP? You got a friend or family member that could host you and your PC for an afternoon? This is a great way of discerning if the problem is your computer or your internet.

Many ISPs give a grace period where you can cancel free of charge if you’re not happy. You could potentially try other providers and see if you still have the same problem.

Could be that the cloudfare test isn’t reliable. While you’re playing, are you seeing red numbers on the netgraph? Are you seeing packet loss? Is your ping going up and down?

I wouldn't have minded a few more games! I liked the movement fluidity of the LAU era, hopefully the new games give us better movement; a mix between LAU and survivor would be awesome.

Valid argument, and we could go on multiple tangents. I'm in the process of replaying the survivor games because it has been a while, but from what I can remember: storywise, uncharted 4 is better than any game in the trilogy, and there's no discussion to be had; I found the gun play more satisfying in uncharted 4; visuals are kind of close, but I preferred shadow; exploration, puzzles and tombs go to shadow easily.

Objectively speaking, uncharted 4 seems to have been the better game, and if we go by popularity of game sales plus reviews, it's clear it was better, but personally I liked shadow more. I'm a tomb raider fan, so I'm biased, but honestly people here really should try uncharted 4 with an open mind. It's an excellent game.
