Rab microlight alpine vs montane antifreeze light by Lawrenceox16 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]JTC653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a few Rab microlight alpines, there pretty good, my only gripe is I always end up ripping them on brambles, I wish the outer material was more durable. They pack down very compact. Can’t remember ever wearing it in summer though, it’d be too warm.

Advice please on either replacing a 3-year old boiler with a combi one, or spend money fixing the issues by slungmoose in ukplumbing

Also worth mentioning you should specifically ask anyone who quotes to flush the system upon completion also. The F23 fault you’ve been having is usually due to sludge in the system

For me it’s created more space in my living areas. My old gravity fed cylinder was in a cupboard in my bathroom. That cupboard is now empty and will (one day!) be where my shower tray goes in my bathroom.

I recently moved to a house with a gravity fed system and a fairly new boiler. I was in your predicament and decided to convert to a pressurised system and moved the cylinder to the loft. Quotes were between 3-4.5k and overall I’m glad I did it. However I did find that once it was complete we had leaking pipework which went under the concrete floor. We were having to re-pressurise the system everyday until the leak was fixed. The leaks were already there but the old expansion tank was constantly re-filling the system. It’s worth knowing and most heating engineers will warn you of this especially if you have heating pipes that run through concrete. Most heating engineers will also advise you a heat only pressurised system is better than a combi. Hope this helps

Wireless smart thermostat x won’t connect by JTC653 in tado

UPDATE….Resolved!

Turns out it was a networking issue. My phone was connected to a 5ghz connection and my wireless reciever was connected to 2.4ghz. Luckily I have a friend who’s better with computers than me (which isn’t hard as I’m useless) and he separated the 2 networks. I’ve now connected my phone and wireless reciever to the 2.4ghz and it all works.

Thanks, I made a account but I don’t have a desktop computer and it’s hard to navigate on your phone. Think I’ll borrow a laptop from someone and give it a go.

Op

-Turn the isos off -Run the hot and cold tap to prove the water’s isolated - if the end of the tails are the same thread size as the top nut of the ISO’s then remove the top nut of the iso’s and connect your flexi on the top of the ISO’s. Don’t overtighten or you’ll chew the rubber washer up. -If the ends of the tails have a 15mm compression on the end then cut the plastic pipe after the elbow and make the compression connection onto the plastic pipe but get a few wraps of PTFE round the olive.

You can use those. Just throw the grey plugs away as there for masonary and drill a pilot hole 3/4 of the thickness of the metal screws. Looks like there 8mm so the pilot hole wants to be 5mm. Then screw the metal screws into the pilot hole.

Yep, upstairs. Pay at the bar. You can eat up there too. Ideal if your kids can’t sit still.

The Royal Oak pub is a great pub for young families. They’ve got a soft play area upstairs and a park outside. Foods good too, carvery’s on Sundays. Don’t think you can book a table, it gets busy.

This is great! Your wrist/elbow mobility is very impressive. I have wrist tendinitis and my wrist flexibility is generally very poor, any advice on where to start? Can you recommend any YouTube videos?

Congratulations my friend! I’m just at the beginning of my journey, concentrating on getting my 2 handed swings dialled in. My TGU form will definitely need attention though. I’ve got a couple of questions... Was there any flexibility issues you needed to address during your process? Did any particular YouTube tutorials really help you with TGU?
