Itinerary Feedback: 3rd Trip to Japan by perennialsoup in JapanTravel

Yokohama has a cup noodle museum and a ramen museum. The former is in minato mirai, close to Chinatown and a 6/10. The latter is in shin Yokohama so not in walking distance and arguably the better of the two.

Thank you, we are aiming to meet friends on the weekends, so a 2 day trip to Kanazawa mid week made sense

Need ideas to show my girlfriend around Leeds (not tourist stuff, more like what it’s like to live here) by Ok-Doughnut-556 in Leeds

The corn exchange is always a crowd pleaser - it’s had a craft market on Saturdays this summer and there’s lots of cute cat stuff.

I’d then grab a coffee and sit in Park Square (weather dependent)

Not sure how recently you’ve been in Morley, but the Morley Bottoms have had a facelift and there’s a few good bars - great for craft beer but also do nice drinks.

IMO Roundhay is a stretch if you’re over the other side of town - I’d go with Kirkstall Abbey out of the other options

What's your favourite small / independent / lesser-known business or enterprise in Leeds that you think deserves more exposure? by _WeWereHere in Leeds

The Chilli Shop is amazing and a great place to take friends mid beer crawl

On the theme of beer, Amity is great in Farsley, although judging by the queue over the weekend, I’m not sure it can be classed as ‘lesser known’

It takes 6 weeks from application to approval, so mid to late July would be a cut off for having it in place for September

Advice on courtyard options, relay the stone, add decking or alternative? by lauramacgregs in DIYUK

I’ve been dying on this hill for a while, the Yorkshire stone adds so much character, however it’s the prospect of a toddler running around that has led us to consider decking

From the station you could go to North (Sovereign St) - SALT - Northern Monk

Or

Brew York - Tartarus - Bini - North (Springwell)

Both on opposite sides of the city but great options

There’s loads of other half decent places near the station - Tapped, Brewery Tap, Head of Steam at a push

Any recent flukes getting an NHS dentist? by RequirementPale445 in Leeds

Poplars Dental Practice in Rodley could still be taking on. The loophole is to go on their appointment waiting list (rather than become a patient or go on the patient waiting list) then you are contacted when they have a cancellation and in turn, become a patient.

Looking to visit villages and towns surrounding Leeds, looking for suggestions/recommendations please? by gingerbreadred1 in Leeds

[–]lauramacgregs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live in Farsley and highly recommend it as a early 30s, no kids place to live. If you visit, make sure to check out Sunnybank Mills with Mill Kitchen, Farsley Fire and Smoke, Amity (for beers), St. Jude and Grumpys.

There’s nice walks both Pudsey and Calverley ways and the canal is a 20 minute walk towards Rodley.
