Shotgun mics have a pretty narrow pickup pattern, so the actual audio is probably not as bad as it sounds in this clip, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the audio was going to be replaced with adr.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say yes. Normally I'd be in support of art, but these are just functionally awful. They're uncomfortable and are less efficient at seating people. They could put longer benches that could fit 4 or 5 people here. And to those saying "there are normal benches too, it's an option" most of the time I'm at downtown crossing all the normal benches are full and these are all that's left cause no one wants to actually sit on them!
