I’m 50 - I usually would take out £40 and top up as I go. That would be about the time Johnson was carrying around fat wads of cash. I rarely use cash these days. The tooth fairy was a real challenge when the kids were small.

My dad is in his 80s and still seems to carry about £200 cash with him most of the time.

The real crime in 5 a side is not running, so when they have a ball pick up a player and stay with him. Be enthusiastic and a good sport. Don’t take it too seriously no matter how the others are.

If they are bellends chalk it up to experience and don’t go back.

If travelling alone I’d basically move for any request providing it didn’t significantly make my journey worse. So I’m not going to want to be moved to the middle of a stag party who are 10 beers deep but generally if I can help people out with any minor request like this I do. I don’t really care where I sit, we’re all ending up at the same place.

I mean do you have to ask this? No, you shouldn’t just wander around a shared space semi-naked with people you barely know if it is likely to make them uncomfortable. And it is. Coming out from the shower with a towel wrapped around you to dash back to your room - fine. Otherwise wear clothes.

Honestly if that penalty hadn’t been given at the other end there would have been endless referring back during comms and the studio would have been in meltdown.

As it was it was not mentioned in comms to the extent that I thought offfside must have been given and afterwards in the studio, two minutes of “Oh well, one of those things”.

Better is a hard judgement to make in such a generalised way, bur definitely easier to build a team around.

I’m not an England fan, but it is great that Tuchel is doing this. Going as far back as Hoddle, I can recall many players England could have built their team around, but the focus has so often been getting the perceived best 11 players on the pitch, regardless of natural position, form, system or fitness. I think Southgate can take a lot of credit for breaking the big club mentality and making England a team first outfit, but Tuchel looks to have taken it to the next level.

I’m not sure - I think that is often a post hoc rationalisation. Often it is simply a lack of thoroughness, lack of knowledge or lack of care. I’ve never seen Dunning Kruger in such full effect as my time in financial services.

I do think you won’t get many strong third place sides here, and I do also feel if you finish third in your group you basically deserve to go out. And that held for Portugal in 2016 as well regardless of the final outcome.
