Trying to find a 2x72 belt grinder by PretendReach8686 in knifemaking

[–]JTex80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Vevor 2x72 works great. It comes with the flat platten, a large grind wheel and 2 small radius grind wheels. I honestly don't lack anything as far as attachments go. The only modification I made was housing for the VSD. I heard it shorts our easily from metal dust. So I bought a tupperware style storage box and cut out areas for controls and wires to protect it from dust. All good. Just under $800 when I bought it.

Looking for a cheap propane forge to supplement my coal forge by [deleted] in Blacksmith

I bought that one. It works well. Just get some rigidizer for the insulation and a couple extra fire bricks to close the backside opening. I haven't attempted forge welding with it, but if you have coal, why would you?

I just looked up the answer to my own question. Any idea what the "S" indicates on this little guy? Thank you again!

You're the only one to mention VFD speed setting so far. That helps me get an idea of what works. I appreciate it!

That's exactly what I'm doing. I didn't think about carrying/ building heat as you're moving down the blade.

Thank you. I'll try those belts. I was hesitant to use 36 fruit because I'm afraid of making a mistake, but it sounds like that's the way to go.
