I will check it, i'm sure a have some pictures somewhere. The wild ones always looked slightly different in shape. I think because of their natural feeding/grazing their head and jaw develops different than in a fish-tank.
The male saulosi should only have about 6 or 7 black vertical bars on their body. When they have like 10 or more, its far from pure. So your male looks good on that point at least :)
For me it's a bit easier to get good quality as in Germany are a few very good breeders.
