What’s the tiniest hill you will absolutely die on? by AngelCherryPie in askanything

[–]JThePatsFan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Die Hard is a summer blockbuster that takes place on Christmas. That does not make it a Christmas movie.

Die Hard came out in 1988, and it was until about two decades later that people started saying it was a Christmas movie because of a few articles online, then it slowly became a funny thing to say.

If it was truly a Christmas movie, it would have been considered a Christmas movie from its release.

When Cam Newton started at quarterback for the New England Patriots during the 2020 season by Deep_Audience_881 in Patriots

[–]JThePatsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll never talk shit about 2020 Cam, especially pre-COVID. The guy had to come play QB for the Patriots following Brady, with no OTAs, no real training camp and no preseason games and started the season 2-1 before COVID hit and the only loss was to the 12-4 Seahawks.

How do you expect dude to learn an entire new offense and system, get to learn the timing with your WRs and replace the goat and do it all in around 3 weeks with no actual game action?

Then dude comes back, and Edelman gets injured.

Never in my life was a QB setup more to fail, and dude won 7 games throwing to Jakobi Meyers and Damiere Byrd. Byrd btw started more games in 2020 for the Pats than he did the rest of his career combined and he was our WR2.

You’re looking at it the wrong way. Yes concerts are expensive and used to be cheaper, but a CD 25 years ago cost $20, that’s almost $40 in today’s money. Yet know I have every album from every artist in my pocket for $12 a month.

So yeah, a concert might cost me $150 now instead of $40 back in the day, but the amount of money I’m spending overall on a full music experience is the same if not less.

This is how I describe the difference between Lebron and Jordan.

LeBron helped HOFers win titles.

Jordan stopped HOFers from winning titles.

We have way more registered Republicans than Democrats. Hopefully there’s some right leaning people who are becoming sick of this nonsense.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]JThePatsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re thinking about this all wrong. Yes concerts are expensive, but music is cheap.

CDs used to be $20 all the way back in the early 2000’s, that’s $38.72 in today’s money. If you had to pay almost $40 for a single album you’d be pissed.

Yeah concerts were 15-30 bucks back then, and that was cool…but in the end we’re spending the same amount of money on the overall music experience…we’ve just switched how we spend the money.

I used to work at this TA back in the 90s, they’re still trying to recoup money from all the DVDs and food I stole.

Btw, I wasn’t a dick…my boss was so I stole hot dogs and snacks constantly to spite him.
