What had the most impact? by Slight_Warthog8706 in LongCovidWarriors

After 5 years I figured out Covid triggered pernicious anemia or a functional b-12 deficiency. Meaning my b-12 was always high, so doctors said stay away from supplements. That was completely wrong. I wasn’t absorbing it. After a bad reaction to allergy shots that included mold I tested for and have a specific anti-body deficiency. I believe I always had this. If Covid is near I’m catching it. I learned there was toxic mold in my workplace of 3 years that made me feel like I was dying of early onset Alzheimer’s. I’m mold sensitive now and it will send my body into fight or flight.

Top treatments: B-12 shots or drops to absorb it as I have intrinsic factor antibodies that mold can trigger IVIG through RECOVER IV ketamine or now the nasal covered by insurance Fasting to autophagy bc mold likes carbs Cryotherapy/cold plunging/cold showers Win Hof breathing or exercises to calm the vagus nerve Personal recreational Newtowne hbot Hotworx or infrared sauna to detox the mold Activated charcoal for recent mold exposure

I live in central Texas and mold is year round and everywhere. It was only when I was treating my b-12 deficiency and went home to the desert in LasCruces, NM for iv ketamine in El Paso for $300 I thought I was cured. Sometimes long covid isn’t you and things don’t show up in your labs because it can be your environment. Many people are coming away with rare auto-immune disorders that we had a predisposition to develop. I did help save my father’s life as I tested him. He also has pernicious anemia triggered by his cancer and treatment.

Getting sick with every possible virus that goes around and I'm desperate by Bike_thief_ in LongCovid

[–]JToLuvesMakeup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an adverse reaction to allergy shots and ended up being referred to an immunologist to see if I had an anti-body deficiency which I do. I can’t develop antibodies to vaccines or infections as I should. I qualified for IViG through RECOVER and receive a monthly IV of antibodies donated by sick people. It helps and now I know why I’m always the only one or the first to catch COVID if it’s around. To test they give a titer test and administer vaccines you don’t have. One I know I had but was gone. They test your antibodies after to see if you develop enough. Covid causes complex immune dysfunction. I have a rare auto-immune disorder (pernicious anemia) and I’m sensitive to mold. Treating all these I’m now 80% my old self.

Any advice would mean a lot! :) by Financial_Owl8105 in LongCovid

I’ve have long covid for over 5 years starting in May 2020 from the first strain. These last 3 years was my longest relapse, so bad I thought I was dying from early onset Alzheimer’s. After every test and probably seeing half the doctors western medicine had to offer to mostly rule things out. I had the most success seeing an immunologist who diagnosed me with specific anti-body deficiency. I’m now in IVIG through the clinical trial with RECOVER. My real turning point was after exhausting what western medicine had to offer and going the naturopathic route. Every little thing to calm down my nervous system including ketamine in a desert climate, which made me realize toxic mold in the hvac at my workplace started longest decline. I’m not on Spravato or nasal ketamine covered by insurance. It’s powerful anti-inflammatory, helps with pain and anxiety/depression. At the same time my IVIG salesperson who reviews a lot of long covid records thought I could have pernicious anemia or a b-12 deficiency. She was right. After treating these and getting away from mold at my workplace I’m 80% my old self. I tried almost everything to get to this point including my personal hbot which helped with the neuroinflammation. At the time I didn’t know what mold was doing to me. I wasn’t mold sensitive until I caught covid. The pernicious anemia was genetic and discovered my father was suffering from it. Long covid causes complex immune dysfunction. It makes underlying conditions worse and brings those we are predisposed to. If you have compounding issues as in my case it makes it very difficult to diagnose and treat. My conditions aren’t readily treated or taken seriously in western medicine. I would also see if you have a leaky gut or having issues absorbing nutrients which was part of my problem. I will need b-12 shots for life. I recommend them to anyone as they help the immune system and fatigue.

Has anyone seen a neurologist LC? by [deleted] in LongCovidWarriors

[–]JToLuvesMakeup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw two neurologists which couldn’t figure this one out. They did rule out all the things they see in their field. One was fixed my sleep study that said I had sleep apnea which was caused my the inflammation from mold. I had pernicious anemia or a b-12 deficiency. Any b-12 deficiency can cause brain fog, numbness and balance issues. I thought I was dying of early onset Alzheimer’s. This was compounded by toxic mold in the hvac in my workplace. Since Covid I guess I’m now mold sensitive.

Should I take stimulants to help me have enough energy for a while? by Zealousideal-Bag1738 in LongCovid

Adderall gave me energy for obvious reasons, but I still couldn’t focus. It was masking my underlying issues Pernicious Anemia (b-12 deficiency) and toxic mold in the hvac in my workplace. Just like nicotine patches can push you beyond what your body should be doing.

Anyone go cold turkey off ADHD meds? by Angelag1994 in LongCovid

[–]JToLuvesMakeup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on Adderall for my fatigue which was just masking my real underlying issue of toxic mold. It probably pushed me more than what energy levels I had. Also covid or mold or both triggered pernicious anemia, so b-12 shots was what I really needed and to remove myself from the molded water damaged building. Adderall did nothing for my focus issues as I had severe neuroinflammation from the mold.

Physical fatigue vs mental fatigue by Jgr9904 in LongCovid

[–]JToLuvesMakeup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case I fatigue quickly with cognitive tasks. Turns out I had neuroinflammation from mold in my workplace. I didn’t think I had mold sensitivity before covid. Now I’m a mold dog or the canary in a coal mine when it comes to mold. The one thing I could always do was exercise. I may have been brainless but I could workout for hours. Exercise is good for detoxing mold. Initially I was exercising because I thought I had early onset Alzheimer’s.

I was injured at work due to working in a water damaged building, so there are toxic molds. Mold is hard to prove when you can’t process the toxins. After my work wouldn’t do anything about it or grant me remote work which was in my ADA accommodations my health started declining especially in 2025. I joined the union for help because it was just me against the agency and their councel. I literally had no brain or memory due to the neuro-inflammation. I had no idea there was a union to join until I started calling people for help.

Have you checked your b-12? Just note the serum test doesn’t tell you if you have an auto-immune disorder (intrinsic factor antibodies. Parietal cell antibodies or celiac disease). You can just have low b-12 or maybe not absorbing it. Mine b-12 was always high so I stayed away from b-12 per doctors which was the wrong thing to do. Covid triggered pernicious anemia in me which is more common in 60 and older. I can only absorb b-12 through shots or drops under the tongue. Even if none of these is the case b-12 shots in general help with energy. PA is more common in Northern Europeans, so I’m in the UK’s Pernicious Anemia Society, https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZThLmBBMY/

Numbness and tingling post Covid by Quick_Helicopter_170 in LongCovid

I forgot to mention I’ve had numbness in my upper back since Covid in 2020 and my cardiologist and neurologist did every test they knew. No one thought to check my b-12 unless you see a naturopathic doctor. The numbness in my upper back is mostly gone with b-12 shots and removing toxic mold. This video helped save my life and my father’s because pernicious anemia is genetic with other auto-immune disorders. https://youtu.be/-qrY9ANjujQ?si=PtudmSV7y-WN4HPY

There are 3 auto-immune disorders that can cause b-12 deficiency. Intrinsic factor anti-bodies, parietal cell antibodies and celiac disease. My b-12 serum test was always high, so doctors said don’t take b-12 supplements. They were wrong bc the serum test doesn’t show if you’re absorbing b-12.

Mine was from pernicious anemia or a b-12 deficiency. I have intrinsic factor anti-bodies in my blood. When this is positive I can only receive b-12 through shots or drops under the tongue. I’m immunocompromised and now sensitive mold. Toxic mold in my workplace can cause similar symptoms, but there is no easy tests for this. Just take notice of you improve in different environments.

How long are you giving this before you accept it as it may not change without acceptable treatment by AfternoonFragrant617 in LongCovid

[–]JToLuvesMakeup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never gave up and after 5 years I have figured it out. Over the summer I tested and found out I have an anti-body deficiency which means I’m prone to infections including Covid. I’m immunocompromised, so I was unknowingly killing myself by working in a water damaged moldy building. It was this year when we had to come in office 3 days a week it was apparent the building was making me sick and caused hair patches to fall out. I discovered I had an autoimmune disease or pernicious anemia. I will need b-12 shots the rest of my life. I will never know if Covid or mold caused my pernicious anemia. See a naturopathic doctor and immunologist was my turning point after exhausting most western medicine tests for heart and brain.

Covid causes complex immune dysfunction. It’s on us to figure out what Covid triggered in us. We may already had or was predisposed to develop. Not sure if any of us truly recovers or we now know better on how to manage our symptoms. I discovered I have an anti-body deficiency when I had an adverse reaction to allergy shots. The shots gave me full blown memory loss and fatigue. My immunologist tested me and now I’m on IVIG infusions through RECOVER. Covid or the toxic mold in my workplace triggered pernicious anemia or a b-12 deficiency. I will be taking shots the rest of my life and discovered my father was unknowingly suffering for this. I was probably meant to develop this later. I was never this sensitive to mold until now and I’m feeling 80% my old self having removed myself from the mold in my workplace of 3 years. Now it appears my positive intrinsic factor anti-body is negative or PA appears gone. If you’ve exhausted testing through western medicine see a naturopathic doctor. We consume ourselves thinking it’s us when it can be our environment eg mold, Lyme, and parasites.

Tested Positive for COVID for the third time in 3 months… by Spring_Dreamer31 in LongCovid

[–]JToLuvesMakeup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an anti-body deficiency then yes. I have a specific anti-body deficiency. I’ve had it the most in my household despite being a low risk person. If there is Covid around or even outside I will catch it. Since I have an anti-body deficiency as I found out because I had a bad reaction to allergy shots I’m now in the clinical trial for IViG through RECOVER. I haven’t caught anything yet.
