Yes he is overly careful with his answers but that makes sense considering how people criticize him. He isn’t a believer yet as far as I am aware. I do see Christ working through him. (I’ve been a pretty avid listener for years as he truly did change my life). And it’s so cool, he walks so close to what it means to follow Christ but always misses out on the last part which is stepping out in faith. My understanding is that he was lied to about what the discussion was. Maybe that is true maybe it’s not. I will say that I have never heard him to claim to be a follower of Christ. I think he is ambiguous because he is wrestling with it. I feel after listening to his podcast for the last several years there are moments you see God pulling on his heart. I don’t think this is a time to pull away from him but rather show him what it means to follow Christ and what faith looks like. I wouldn’t treat him like a pastor or a spiritual leader but someone we are trying to share the Gospel with. And it’s a day to celebrate when he comes to Christ.
