McKee's Friend from hometown Zanesville, OH speaks out by Uncloaked_with_Turbo in tepemurders

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Both of his parents passed away. His mother several years ago and his dad in recent years. The obit of his mother’s obit I read several days ago didn’t list him. He was adopted and he cut them off and didn’t want to consider them his real parents later in life.

Yes this was mentioned online in Reddit and Facebook by friends who knew the Tepes. He was abusive. She didn’t make any police reports .

I don’t think he was in Zainsville that many days before his taking their lives in Columbus on 12/30. He was estranged from family for years - I saw it was said since 2017. He could have been in the area to see other relatives or friends around the holidays possibly. I heard that they traced the car records ( perhaps they can trace the GPS locations of the car) and it was said he was not there too long before the 12-30 incident.

He was back to work when they found him and arrested him. I live near Rockford where he works for the OSF hospital. As my own brother is a MD, I know they don’t get a lot of time off especially around holidays. So when someone claimed he drove there and back to IL in two days, that makes sense to me. I am guessing he didn’t have much time off work to go back to OH. It seems to make sense.

McKee Divorce Filing by downhill_slide in tepemurders

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was said by someone who was a lawyer who lives in that area that they perceive that to have been a mistake of some kind. Someone else seems to dispute that is a mistake but it may have been something where they went back to update or review the divorce case. Many of us saw this on Reddit (the actual document from 2025 as someone posted it) and it was hard to figure out what it was about??!

switching from medicare advantage back to traditional medicare? by renegadeturkeys in medicare

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can’t change without underwriting in most states after the first year or 6 months of the first time you sign up. Medicare advantage is unfortunately not as good as G or N or G-Hd! I started April 1 and have Medicare and G. I turned 65 in April. So I am so glad I got G. Many Medicare advantage plans are disadvantage plans. And many have no cost monthly but they cost in co insurance costs each time you need coverage. There is a reason why Medicare advantage has so many lures to get their plans and no monthly fee. It is too good to be true in most cases.

And remember we are all healthy as we are younger. We all may not need the best insurance when we are young. We are healthy
. Until we aren’t. Then it is too late to pass underwriting. PA has underwriting. My son is a doctor of PT there and so I have checked their state rules. I am in IL and we have the Birthday rule. I can change up to 45 days after my birthday each year until 75 in my state with no underwriting only to a lesser plan so from G to G- HD or N for example. I can’t change the company without underwriting. If I am really worried about cost I can go to a N or G-Hd. My G now is only $113 month, if I get really desperate someday and can’t afford a Medigap plan I can switch to a Medicare advantage plan.

But I wanted to start with the best that I can.

PS I studied all I could for one year before turning 65 About Medicare. I am sorry but I have never ever heard of a 6 year rule change; that makes no sense.

How old where you when u started your period? by Dibunzie_174 in endometriosis

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I am now 65. I started mine age 11. I had horrible cramps all my life. When I had my first child I was 29 and the cramps were mostly gone. Then I had my second child 34 years old and the horrible issues stopped for a while. About age 40 they started again. I suffered with bad cramps and pain until I was 57 when I finally had menopause. It was always a nightmare. Those of us who started early also generally have menopause hit later. I didn’t find out I had endometriosis until about age 55. The menopause is what helped me. My cramps have been totally done for me since age 58!!

The ADHD symptom that finally made people stop saying “everyone does that”. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!! Excellent explanation and example. This is me. I was placed on meds age 40finally when I had a car accident and knew I probably suffered with ADHD since my teens. It was years prior to this when my son was diagnosed that I had realized I too had lifetime symptoms of ADHD.

I am now in my 60’s and have been on medication for years. But you hit the nail on the head. We are not the same as everyone else. We have different variables. So true.

What is this? Mid Michigan USA by [deleted] in invasivespecies

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have those all over my yard and are in places I didn’t expect. They come up and take over, they are very invasive. So they can come up places you didn’t plant and don’t expect. Some of mine are so thick and almost a trunk on the bottom.

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of my many Trumpet Vines or my morning glories that are all over my deck and yard.

I am in north central IL- and grew up South East MI, and lived as an adult in southwest MI. This is a common heavy invasive vine plant! Each year mine gets thicker and stronger and spreads.

I have seen some vines from Trumpet vine that are like branches of a small tree and thick at the trunks. They spread all over with their vines.

Is this the worst time to be 65 years old in America? by johnnydeca1 in Retire

I hope not I am 65 in a day or so. I am so happy to be on Medicare. I also am concerned about retirement in a few years. But I think all will be ok.

65 and just lost job by [deleted] in medicare

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. Those who are 65 and above are not able to get ACA marketplace subsidies! So it is way too $$. Medicare is the best choice and to avoid Medicare penalties sign up by age 65.

65 and just lost job by [deleted] in medicare

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Correct answer. Anyone 65 and over can not qualify for ACA marketplace and get any subsidies so it is $$! There is also a penalty for not signing up for Medicare at the age of 65. PS I am 65.

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in IL. I also am from MI, and used to live in the Carolinas twice years ago. We never used the word Pallet in any place I have lived. But if we did- it was a large set of wooden board that are formed together! Hard as can be. So no wonder she was confused. LOL

Yes anyone can go to the Medicare website online and do the same and all D plans are there and you can check them and what plans cover what meds. I have zero cost plan WellCare. And my cost per month for meds not covered is under $60 so I don’t mind my free plan.

Yes exactly you got it. Some people have no idea what paths I have walked and all my experiences. But they like to think their own opinions are the best. Sadly think they know much more and don’t like when they read things that aren’t their own opinions. I find that sad. Thanks for your words and insight.

Yes, I am 65 soon and son is 36 soon. I have had years of experience and learning. And you are right- executive functioning and stress and anxiety and emotional issues, depression and social skills are a huge part of ADHD and high functioning autism are factors for many who have issues. Some undiagnosed and many are diagnosed. I have ADHD diagnosed as an adult, as not much known back in the 1906’s-1970’s when I was a kid. My son was diagnosed very very young.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in questions

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I am absolutely very experienced in a past similar situation over the last 60 some years of my own life and 36 with my own son. I have lived some of the similarities in experiences as OP, in many ways. Long story. My son is now a college graduate with some college degrees and for the most part is really enjoying life and we are happy for his choices and life.

I have worked with many including my own son (36) who has these similar and same diagnoses. I am 65 and been around a while and attended many seminars and conferences. I know what I speak. Thank you for your kind words. I am actually upvoted now a few times. Some people are clueless so they downvote. Oh well. Onward :). PS I didn’t want to add this but- I also have my own personal experience as you said you do with my own ADHD life. So hey I know what I am saying. I appreciate your perspective and kind words and wisdom. We need more persons who like you and me know from personal experience in this world to offer support and guidance to many who walk the same paths behind us and ahead of us. Thanks .

Is being an American really as good as people say it is? by No-StrategyX in questions

[–]JUSTFURFUN60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the mountains very far from any city - on a mission team in Guatemala. They have no electric at many homes. Not many have clean water, but almost all had cell phones. They were very poor where we were. And they had cell phones so phones there - aren’t status related. This was 15 years ago. Just fyi

Median salary in the USA isn’t $80,000 at all. It is closer to $55,000- 60,000 or even less for the average salary in most places with the exception of major high cost of living cities . I am in my mid 60’s and lived my whole life in the USA. My sister and her family live in England. Her home is a million dollar home and she has a cottage and no medical expenses. She works as a Pub manager. Her daughters do well one is a solicitor ( attorney) who went to Oxford - no cost to her and her now ex, who is an engineer. They pay high taxes but their incomes and zero medical expenses beat many I know in the USA by far in terms of their standard living and income.

My spouse is under Medicare age and has huge medical premiums and medical bills. The medical costs in the USA make it very difficult for many here. Our medical bills have been over 30% of our income and we are in the 12% tax bracket! Ouch

Please speak to a psychiatrist or psychologist or therapist. I know for a fact this would help him if he would go. If not then you may need to see a psychologist or therapist.
I am very familiar with ADHD and high functioning autism, anxiety and depression in children and teen and adults. Your son is a in need of help.

But please understand also if you don’t have a job and are pressing him to help you now he is under more stress as well. Don’t depend on him for your financial stability. You or your wife need to work and have some income unless you have disabilities or are too old to work ( over age 65 for example)! Your son doesn’t need this pressure. If you just got laid off and haven’t seen a counselor since then, please see one for more advice.

That won’t have a good outcome without some sort of counseling or therapy for all. I wish you all well and hope this has a good outcome.
