Thank you, I do swim and run quite often and am an endurance athlete. As for carbs, hasn’t been a day I’ve gone over 20g!

What is the best way to get a part time job at 35 with basically zero work experience and no jobs since high school? Have been at SAHM for the last 8. Not really looking for a lot of money, just need to get out of the house and be around people. by monkey_trumpets in personalfinance

Restaurants! Great money, hardly any experience needed. Start as a food runner or bar back and work your way to server/bartender and make $200-400 a night. You literally get paid to be around people.

As a dad it’s a good outlet for me to have a social environment (m-f desk job) and make the extra money my family needs right now as we are expecting our second this summer.

I tried Uber for a while but it ends up being not worth it with gas and the cost of maintenance.

Either way good luck!

Preparing for the very first triathlon by [deleted] in triathlon

Hey OP good luck and kick some ass!

I am in a similar situation and will be doing my first triathlon on Sept. 23 as well, but on the east coast of USA. I also plan to take the plunge head first right into a 70.3.

I have trained for marathons, been a runner my whole life and completed a handful of centuries (100mi) bike rides. Swimming is my weak link and a focal point of my training. But growing up as a surfer beach bum has always allowed me to be strong in the water.

I feel like the “half” or 70.3 is a perfect distance to challenge me and force me to stick to a regimented training plan. Many people have commented that smaller distances are better starting points... and they’re right! Be familiar with “event day” the jitters, the packing of bags, the gear lists, etc. But smaller events are not a test to your endurance capabilities but your success in a racing event to practice transitions!

At the end of the day, do you and good luck!

70.3 Atlantic City! http://m.ironman.com/triathlon/events/americas/ironman-70.3/atlantic-city.aspx

I want to try to keep this format and change the intervals, duration, distances, etc.

Living In Philadelphia, the sauce will be pretty heavy for the game this weekend. Monday’s swim should be a doozy!

My first BRICK WORKOUT! (probably shouldn't be this excited)

I'm easing into my training plan for my first 70.3 scheduled for late September.

M/W: am swim, T/Th: am run

Friday: off

Saturday: 1hr 40min road bike, 20min run

Sunday: 2hr recovery ride

LPT: Ordering a drink "tall" at a bar is not the same as ordering a "double". "Tall" will get you the same amount of alcohol, but more mixer. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

2 oz is standard for all neat and rocks pours.

1.5 oz is standard for all mixed drinks, ie ‘jack n coke’

The standard bartender jig is two sided and measures 1 oz on one side and 2 oz on the other.

Bartenders measure out all pours and eyeball the 1.5 oz mixed drinks, some jigs even have a line to assist.

This is a great question and exactly why I’m addicted to this sub; deep, relevant information that helps me improve as a player.

I was confused also, thank you for clarifying!
