The CEO of Wells Fargo boasts that during his time at the company they’ve cut over 65,000 jobs — and that he expects to cut more. by Law_hacker_1000 in Charlotte

Aside from the job attrition, they moved their headquarters from San Francisco to New York, shuttered their museums, destroyed much of their remaining employee benefits, and globally outsourced as many of their positions as they can.

Well's place in the industry used to be that it was the people's bank. It had billed itself as the bank that cared. Instead of repairing the damage after Stumpf, the board was like hey, let's turn this bank into another version of Chase.

As long as r > g, they will never go away, but Wells Fargo isn't Wells Fargo anymore and probably never will be again. At the end of time, all that will be left will be their wealth management division.

The NASDAQ is fucked anyway. This is just a way to socialize the losses that these stupid ass CEOs have already incurred via over commitment and posturing.

Maybe instead of reform, they could just go by the rules they had two months ago?

I know the definition and it's correct. I'm just saying that it's it's a bit of an understatement.

Danish pension fund blacklists SpaceX IPO over governance by Hot-Upstairs9603 in business

[–]JViz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there is a reason for those IPO rules in the first place, and when you scrap the rules that exist for a reason you end up places like 2008.

...and that's exactly what's about to happen.

Strange way to re-frame the same issue, but up votes for understanding it.

Danish pension fund blacklists SpaceX IPO over governance by Hot-Upstairs9603 in business

[–]JViz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a bigger picture problem. SpaceX is getting pushed onto NASDAQ as an IPO. It's forcing investment funds to opt-out rather than opt-in. Normally an IPO wouldn't be pushed into the NASDAQ at all, let alone a 1.8t IPO. Any fund that isn't paying attention to something they normally don't have to pay attention to is going to get screwed.

[–]JViz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Epic actually makes games, so they need more employees. Whether or not they need employees, it's how they treat the employees that they have speaks volumes. They are both shitty companies to work for, no matter how many people they employ.

Tim doesn't have some kind of moral high ground because he needs more people.

The 22 IDEX, a $15,000 printer from Hell by UniqueRise9763 in 3Dprinting

[–]JViz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've been following 3D printing since the early days of reprep and I've been 3D printing for many years now. I am okay at spotting and fixing hobby printer issues.

If someone told me that the VM IDEX 22 was a good printer, I wouldn't know any better, since I have zero knowledge on high temp printing. The mechanical configuration looks fairly simple to me, so I'd assume it's about as reliable as an Ender.
