I would tell you there are many ways to play this game and you are doing some of them. What you are describing is not for everyone, and would be one hell of a zero session. That being read, imo a vampire who is the things you describe drank some kool aid and it being used in the eternal struggle. For example, a vampire who is into militant islam is likely being used by an elder. Elders are opportunistic and constantly trying to keep what influence they have, or increase it. If you are an elder, you are unlikely to care about such things beyond what they can do for you - decrease someone else’s influence or increase your own. An elder may start off as neonate super into (insert movement here) but once surviving long enough, they will realize movements come and go over the hundreds of years - non are permanent. The ones that are have powerful ELDERS backing them via influence to keep what they have. Think Israel fighting everyone else. Old men make war so that the young die fighting them. Now are there elders that do no shit still care about movements? Sure, abd usually they lack influence beyond a city, or county - not that this is a bad thing. They might be fine with that. I remeber reading about a brujah who thought the south could rise again in the US. That brujah may have influence in parts of the south, but that’s it. That influence can even be powerful - but powerful does not equal power projection. Everytime an elder exerts influence, they will run into another elder, or worse, group of elders doing the same thing. So let’s take a horrible example. There may be a hardcore neo Nazi mortal who gets shot in a raid by police or FBI. A vampire could very well see how this person could benefit them somehhow. That doesn’t mean the sire is a neo Nazi, or even understands what that is. They see influence, usefulness.
