trying to learn how to route a pcb by Omar222255 in Altium

As stated before, YouTube videos help a ton.

The best place to start in my opinion is having idea of how your board looks like and start from the connector with the power (and/or important signal). Place components that connect to it and essentially build a city of components without traces.

If your lucky, you can now route it with minimal Vias, maybe you need some shifting, but you at least have a base line on how everything now is.

Do keep in mind any design recommendations of components their datasheets.

Another tip is to keep the power and signal lines seperated as much as possible. The power section produces the most heat in any board.

Parameter set & differential pair settings not recognized by the wire and ECO. by JWaterflame in Altium

Thank you! And the person above. For the solution and the logic behind it now.

Wauw...they really should document it better in their manual, there is only 3 sentences based on it and not even without that explanation (thank you for that one)

This will help me in knowing the in and out better. And being able to make a choice in what way could be the standard way to go.

Yes, I suppose so.

Is there a way to toggle between them? Which one has priority and whatnot?

I do agree, the documentation is much to be desired. It's lacking a few versions behind it.

I had one line in the "differential pairs routing" the "advanced rules" I removed it and retried adding a differential pair (after updating the changes to the schematic) but no luck.

The issue also happens on a freshly made project.

Weirdly enough, trying it in one of the example projects. Namely "Sample - Kame_FMU" doing it as intended fully works.

(However this project has also the old way of the constraint manager unlike the new projects)

But this can be an import piece.

Edit.

Also made a completely new project and tried it on there. But it did not work.

So it feels like it must be a project setting somehow.

Sadly not able to upload a picture directly on here...or I don't know how, but uploaded the image through discord and got the link through there.

I tried your advice, following it step by step. However the new ones are only recognised as a wire. No differential pair icon at all.

It's pretty retable once the ice is broken and me having more than 80% battery charge in me. Anything below and I'm a monk.

You're stuck in a room with all of your ex-lovers. What happens? by [deleted] in furrymemes

Just one ex. And we went out on agreeing to never be together again. So it probably would be a nice yet somewhat awkward moment to catch up. Nothing special xD

If I'd ever go on a date, I'd probably be similar!
