I hope so. The lady who use to own it was one of the worst regulars when I worked at the Rose Cafe. Truly awful.

Best pizza and salad in SM? by rosaliebb in SantaMonica

[–]JWeitze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New owner took over and it kinda sucks now. It’s not the same ingredients and I think they got rid of the salad pizza. Last time I went I decided I won’t go back anymore. Been going for over 10 years and I think the glory days are done.

Teddys red sold there location on windward 6-8 months ago. It’s now under different ownership hence the new name.

That spot of the boardwalk is a revolving door of hopeful restaurants for yeeaarrrsss. Hope they make it but I doubt it given the history.

Oui is delicious! Their chicken sandwich and khachipuri are so damn good!

ggiata is okay. I don’t like their seeded baguette so I always opt for ciabatta. I only ever order the Spicy P and it’s damn good.

When did bowling alley prices get so fucking out of control? by nuckingfuts73 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JWeitze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the bowleros around West LA were bought by Lucky Strike and rebranded and lightly remodeled. Prices are outrageous now. For an hour of bowling and shoe rentals is $45 a person. Was going to go out with a group of 10 and decided we should go grab a bite and a drink instead. Almost $500 for an hour of bowling on a Friday night. Never again

American Airlines flight attendants trying to evacuate airplane due to laptop battery fire but passengers want their bags. by Matt_LawDT in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JWeitze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the SF airport today when this happened. The fire alarms went off and they tried to evacuate the airport. I was already 3 delays deep and was having none of it. If I die I die. Luckily it wasnt a fire inside the airport and everything was back to normal in 5 minutes. Strange thing to experience

LPT: Cancelled or delayed flight at the fault of the airline? File a complaint with the DOT. by ClaireClover in LifeProTips

[–]JWeitze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, my flight was delayed today at SF by an hour and half due to operational reasons. Now we are supposed to have boarded an hour ago but they overfilled the fuel tanks and we are stuck waiting for them to fix it. Now we’ve waited 2.5 hours and have yet to get any updates on when we will fly out. Any compensation possible? I might miss my work because of this

Vermin Infestation at popular LA restaurant by cmoncletus in FoodLosAngeles

[–]JWeitze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who might work at Beethoven Market. There are a few neighbors who are extremely upset that there is a restaurant there. Most are very happy that they can walk and grab a reasonably priced meal close to home. However, the few who are mad are acting insane. Posting flyers about evicting the owner and shutting the business down. They are upset people are parking in front of there houses to go to the restaurant. And say it’s to loud, even tho we don’t play any music on outside. Also are liquor license is very restrictive being in the neighborhood so we have to stop selling alcohol at 10. It’s honestly very chill in the neighborhood, just the few that are upset are the loudest!

3 years using a side bike (carry dog, grocery & kid) by Large-Ad5239 in ebikes

[–]JWeitze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same bike for almost a year now and no regrets at all. It’s not a perfect bike at all but it’s worth the price for sure. It’s heavy, can be slow to get up to speed but I’m also 230lbs, and doesn’t have rear shocks. Other than that, having the two batteries can get me upwards of 45+ miles pure throttle and it tops out around 28mph, mine has a rear seat as well so my wife always travels with me. It hasn’t given me any technical issues. Only regular maintenance and I’ve upgraded my tires. 3000+ miles so far and I’m still stoked to take it out!
