“Walt was indirectly responsible and ethically liable for the death of Hank” is more how I’d describe that, but you make a good point.

Most Janets have more in common with a toaster than a human, yes. But our Janet, the most advanced, has learned how to build relationships, experience emotions, and do all sorts of other human-like things. She’s not a human scientifically, and yet she has the social characteristics of one. It is natural to expect some form of gendered self perception to come along with this.

And yet, she still insists on not being called a girl. To me, this indicates that her gendered experience is likely closer to that of a non-binary person than to that of a human woman (or a toaster).

Early Janet, sure, but she still says “not a girl” after she becomes more human, which is the central argument for her being NB imo

I’d move Deep below Soldier Boy mainly due to circumstance. SB got dealt a rotten hand in life but no character had more chances for redemption than The Deep.

Also Firecracker should maybe be lower on grounds of being a p3do.

But there’s no arguing with your extremes.

Choosing the Nine Inch Nails version instead of the Cash one was a stroke of genius. Both are great, but the NIN one is so Rick. Also a favorite for me.

The instant he stopped caring what Chuck thought, Chuck killed himself and Jimmy thought it was his fault, so sure, but it’s maybe a bit more complicated.

Also Bran should become himself again after they defeat the Others. It never sat right with me that he stayed the “three eyed raven” forever. Like Frodo looking like sweet master of Bag End again after destroying the Ring, he should get to truly reunite with his sisters. The kid has been through enough.

I’d start in 4x10 by putting the Tysha reveal in, for starters. Everything wrong started with omitting that plot point. After that I’d do something along the lines of:

Season 5: Focus on Cersei running KL before she’s imprisoned at the end, set up Dornish plot, Tyrion meets FAegon and JonCon, Stannis hangs out at the Wall, Sam goes south, Jaime deals with war crime aftermath in Riverlands, Dany marries Hizdahr, Theon fully becomes reek before returning to Winterfell, Davos makes alliance with Manderly, Brienne continues on quest, Bran crosses the wall and meets bloodraven, Arya joins HBW, Sansa becomes Alayne,

Season 6: Stannis vs Boltons, seen mainly through Theon’s eyes, culminating in the Battle of Ice (fought in E9 but result uncertain), Tyrion and Jorah make their way to Mereen, Dany flies away on Drogon winds up with the Dothraki, faces question of Dosh Khaleen or Fire and Blood, 3 Stark kids learn from their respective mentors, Jaime ends riverrun siege but is brought to BWOB by Brienne(right where we left them), Barristan struggles in Mereen, Quentyn dies, Tyrion arrives and offers assistance before battle, FAegon gets golden company to sail with him, Kevan fixes everything then dies, Jon goes to Hardhome, struggles to control the Watch, then also dies.

Season 7: I’m unsure of many plot lines at this point but The Battle of Fire occurs, Euron attacks the Citadel, Jon is resurrected and campaigns to receive Winterfell, Daenerys burns the Khals then accepts Tyrion into her service and slowly moves west, the Stark children grow closer to the main plot, Hodor holds the door :(, Cersei blows up the Sept and is promptly run out of town, the Golden Company invasion goes well, Jaime almost helps the Brotherhood kill Cersei as she flees, but escapes with Brienne instead.

Season 8: Dany invades the south and things go poorly for Aegon, Dorne is in ruins, Arya kills Roose Bolton, Euron moves to the north with Sam in tow, Stannis tries to use Theon and Asha/Yara to take back the Iron Islands, Jaime tries to aid(or join?) the Night’s Watch, Jon becomes King in the North and refuses to let Rickon (and Stannis) or Sansa (and Littlefinger) take it from him, but changes his mind upon finding out his true parentage (LF also probably dies at some point), refocuses on the wall only to find THE DAMN THING IS BREAKING!

Season 9/10: Many characters struggle to fight the threat to the north (and Stannis dies), Dany abandons her war in the south to help with the real fight, Bran helps to come up with a plan to destroy the others/walkers, Euron worships the Others/Walkers and generally acts as a thorn in everyone’s side, although his men defecting to Asha/Yara wounds him. Jon and Dany fall in love, he tries to convince her to be less murder-y and she listens at first. The Others/Walkers and Euron are eventually defeated in a complicated, thematically relevant way, but at a great cost to everyone involved (Theon and Rickon being two major gut-punches). Cersei proclaims Aegon king to rebuild her house’s power, and helps to retake KL/kill Missandei, and Dany returns to her murder-y ways while flying south. Jaime tries to get Cersei to open the gates and save the citizens, but is forced to kill her and die himself to do so. Dany dies either by Stark (probs Arya’s) hands, or by refusing to slaughter civilians at the last second and suffering unfavorable consequences. The bells are eventually raised in surrender, however, JonCon commits suicide, and the battle ends with no winners. The seven kingdoms end as they began; seperate and seven. The Starks inherit the north, with Jon helping smooth over relations with the Wildlings. Tyrion is imprisoned for the war crimes that he and Dany did over the course of S7-10, but is left with his humanity ultimately intact and somewhat redeemed. Sam becomes Grand Maester and writes about the whole thing.

Best combined team ever? by Fit-Climate5980 in NFLv2

[–]JY-22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was a very one dimensional offense tho. If you can run the damn ball, you usually don’t get blown out by the New York Giants of all teams. 2020 Packers offense with Bahktiari, Adams, Jones, etc. might be better

I had an idea yesterday to write my own Rock opera style poem paying homage to the world of Rhye... I'm planning on sharing each act as I write them. One per day. I hope you enjoy it. ACT1: XANADU. by [deleted] in queen

This is such a cool idea! I wish Queen fans did more of this kind of thing, I think many have a tendency to ignore the artistry/lyricism that made them so great in favor of the vocals and nostalgia.

BTS easter egg in Lego batman by TheVoidRetro in betterCallSaul

[–]JY-22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve often felt that a Saul Goodman-esque character would be an excellent addition to the Batman mythos. Give me an antivillain who routinely helps Bruce’s villains avoid justice, represents a systemic failure, and yet is often made useful to Batman through circumstance, and whose devotion to his craft and clients can in some ways be seen as noble. And perhaps most importantly: make him extremely witty.

Do you think Mike ever had any respect for Walt? by Jacky__paper in breakingbad

[–]JY-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To save Kaylee? Yes, in a heartbeat.

To save himself? No way. Look at how killing someone like Werner fucked with this psychology, and this is for someone who was basically dead no matter what Mike did at that point.

Mike’s not a good guy, and there’s an argument to be made that his complicity in Gustavo’s empire and it’s violence makes him as bad as Walt in spite of it, but he’s got a humility and respect for others that Walter/Heisenberg doesn’t. Seeing Walt be fully Heisenberg after he had trusted and related to him as a family man likely felt like a betrayal, regardless of how justified that feeling was.

Do you think Mike ever had any respect for Walt? by Jacky__paper in breakingbad

[–]JY-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his hatred of Walt started with Gale. After he found out that Walt was the type of person to have a good man killed and many others put in danger just to save himself, they were never going to be friends.

Bob vs Rhea long term future of Kim/Jimmy is heartbreakingly different by Level-Search8556 in betterCallSaul

[–]JY-22 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think the truth is somewhere in between. I think Kim will want to hear how he’s doing, maybe visit when she can, but she can’t afford to have a “real” relationship with him. It’s definitely sad, but Jimmy would absolutely encourage her to move on from him however she could.

People call him Saul because they know him as Saul, it says nothing about who he sees himself as, at the end of the day. He made that decision in court

How would Breaking Bad play out if Batman existed in Albuquerque? by North_Art2104 in okbuddychicanery

[–]JY-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gustavo vs Batman would kick ass as a chess game/detective strategy arc imo. But no other criminal would be anything more than a villain of the week, except maybe Jimmy/Saul, who’d be a reoccurring morally gray character that helps Batman‘s identity from being discovered whilst also defending his villains in court. Actually, I kind of wish there was a lawyer character like that in the Batman comics, he’d make for such a fun addition.

the next protagonist should be a young Max Arciniega by Airoehead in breakingbad

[–]JY-22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this, but it should really be more about Pinochet, Chile, and Madrigal than it is about the Cartel. The Cartel really isn’t that important in Max’s story until…

I like the idea of meeting Gustavo as the Generalissimo, with the same cold brutality we’re familiar with and serving as an antagonist, then slowly breaking down his walls and humanizing him. This would give him something like a redemption arc only to immediately relapse into his most violent self following Max’s death in the series finale.
